Get checked.: You may have a cyst there that is now infected. Get checked Avoid harsh soaps and fragrances in skin care and laundry products and tight clothes in that area, too. Pain after pubic symphysis adjustment. Saw ortho, all nerve responses good, but still have pain constantly. Bone malposition? How is this fixed?
Cannot answer: Very interesting question. Cannot be sure why you have pain. If the pain occurs at rest or just prior to sleep, one should consider the diagnosis of atypical restless leg syndrome (RLS). This can cause pain in the pelvic region which stops WITH movement and increases with rest. Drugs, such as mirapex, (pramipexole) may be beneficial. Ask your PCP or a sleep specialist for an evaluation for RLS. ...Read more

I'm having a ultrasound guided pubic symphysis injection with cortazone, do I need to shave my pubic area?
I had a pubic symphysis realignment a month ago and ever since then it feels like my inner thigh is pulling when I walk. Will my body habituate?
TheSymphysisNotSimpl: There are a bunch of muscles that attach in that area. The pubic symphysis keeps your pelvis together in the front so I would expect it to take a few months until you feel normal. Be careful not to overdo it. I'd bet that some physical therapy would help guide you back into shape. So yes, your body will 'habituate' and heal well if you give it time and progress intelligently with your activities. ...Read more
My Si joint/pubic symphysis keep coming out of alignment and I have to "pop" them back in. I need to get stronger but exercise hurts. Should I swim?
SI joint instability: No. In my experience, the resistance in the water can aggravate the SI joint and increase the popping. Unfortunately, SI joint syndrome has limited options. Work with a PT or Chiropractic Doc who is trained in SI joint manipulation and exercises for stability. Avoid high-impact activities and identify what specific movement triggers the instability. A SI joint belt may be helpful. ...Read more

What is better prolotherapy or steriod shot? I might need one in the pubic symphysis and si joint?
Prolotherapy: Although a steroid injection may immediately alleviate the pain and inflammation. It does little to strengthen and stabilize the ligament across a joint. If you have chronic ligament sprain then prolotherapy is recommended to strengthen the ligament which would stabilize the joint and, thus, decrease pain. Also there are minimal side effects with prolo as compared to steroid injections. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
