What should I do about a tonsil stone stuck in a mis-formed crater/pocket in left tonsil? I cannot get it out by ANY means and are getting worried.
Tonsil stones: Greetings, the tonsil stone is a product of food particles that get smushed from the tongue - tonsil interaction during a swallow. I have taken out many in the office. Good Luck ...Read more

Surgery by Voice ENT: Recurrent tonsillitis can and usually causes a significant impact in your quality of life, not to mention days of school/work missed and the inability to sing while ill. Studies have shown that tonsillectomy in singers is safe and effective, especially when done by an ENT surgeon familiar with the singing patient. Leaving for vacation tmrw, have white puss pockets on both tonsils, painless past few days..started z pack tonight, should it clear up?
Very likely: It seems like you have tonsillitis which are most commonly caused by viruses and bacteria. Azithromycin (z-pack) is a pretty good antibiotic for bacteria such as strep. Viruses usually run their course within a few days however can sometimes last longer when mononucleosis (mono) is involved. If it does not improve, then I would suggest getting tested for mono. ...Read more

I have a small tear in what looks to be a film or membrane over my right tonsil. Throat hurts, no white pockets/swelling. I can see a swollen vein.
Probable tonsilitis: It is always difficult to describe the appearance of a tonsil without a good direct light source. What you see in front of a mirror is not reliable. Unless you clearly remember that you scratched your tonsil with a foreign object, the pain is indicative of an inflammation or early infection. Gargle vigorously with warm saline may clarify the outcome a bit more. ...Read more
