What are the physiology and psychology of the phenomenon that people call being "burnt out"? Is this a medical illness or disease or is sociocultural?
Psychology:Adult acquaintenance with daily manic episodes is visiting for one mo. Besides empathy for this person with the disorder what else helps?
Be clear w/in: yourself about how much time you will spend w/friend when manic. If not, he will run your schedule and your day. You can give him 1/2 hour, for example, when he's like that and then have him entertain himself until later. You can tell him this beforehand. Sounds like he is being treated professionally. I was thinking about going for my B.S. in Psychology and was wondering if this would be a degree thats looked at highly by medical schools thanks ?
A BS in Psychology: can be a good degree for med school. Make sure to take as may science courses w/in that. Statistics, anatomy & physiology, etc. are pretty much standard these days. It sounds like you: may be taking a course called abnormal psychology soon. It is the study of pathological behavior or psychological problems and diagnoses. Be careful not to diagnose yourself or others during the process. You may see some of the symptoms you learn about around or within you.
