How to do you handle the phsycological withdrawl of coming of clonazapham for anxiety. I talked to my provider. That didn't help. How long does it last?

Wean slowly: The best way is to prevent withdrawal by slowly weaning off the clonazepam. You should not decrease the dosage more than 10% every 2 -4 weeks as tolerated. The psychological dependence will be lessened with this approach as well. Abruptly stopping it does not give one the chance to see that they can live, exist with out it. ...Read more

Maybe not preg., but: Fertile women can become pregnant when using the withdrawal method (the pull-out method). So, if worried about pregnancy, one can do a pregnancy test. I really need to stop using meth. Are there any meds that could help withdrawal? Also, have there been any new advances or methods in meth recovery?

You can do it: There is no standardized method and treatment should be individualized. You should not fight this alone & ideally under the longitudinal care of a psychiatrist &/or addiction medicine specialist. In most, withdrawal symptoms tremendously improve by 3 weeks. Treatment of co-morbid conditions, antidepressants, antipsychotics, benzodiazepines, & behavioral therapy, augmented with holistic measures. ...Read more

Who would you assume to be more possible to father a child? A man with a vasectomy for 10+ years or a man with no vasectomy that used the withdrawal method?

Unusual question: Vasectomy, if successful ( ( (% are) means that no sperm escape with ejaculate. Sperm aspiration by needle or vasectomy reversal would be required for insemination. Withdrawal method is totally unreliable as sperm can enter vagina in pre-cum which occurs before ejaculation (climax) ; without sensation. Thus withdrawal method frequently results in pregnancy. Post vasectomy pregnancy occurs rarely. ...Read more

Last period was march 1had sex using a condom on the 2nd and 11th, the 17th we used the withdrawal method. Today I'm seeing reddish brown. Am I pregge?

Possible: It's possible that you were ovulating on the 17th, though that would be a late ovulation. Reddish brown today is likely a sign of your oncoming period, but if you're worried, take a home pregnancy test. The answer will be fast and accurate and then you won't have to worry. Withdrawal, btw, prevents pregnancy about 70% of the time. Best wishes. ...Read more

Hello. My question is I had in protected sex using the withdrawal method during my fertile time. My period came a week later and continue for 11 days then it stopped and started again. What do you think is wrong?

The rhytm method: Is actually ineffective: sperm is carried in the male pre-ejaculation fluid and it only takes 1 sperm cell to have someone calling you "Mommy"- try using condoms, spermicidal foam, gel, sponge or vaginal eggs- do a home pregnancy test and discuss definitive BC with your GYN. Your bleeding may be hormonal or from a spontaneous abortion. Call today! ...Read more

All: All contraceptives have failure rates. Please note that there are many sources of data for these rates and the numbers may vary. Withdrawal and fertility awareness methods have a high failure rate of about 25%.

Your description suggests poor technique from a contraceptive perspective because some semen could make it’s way to the cervix.

Let's put these numbers into context. Without contraception about 85% of women will be pregnant within a year. Spermicides & withdrawal (25-30%), fertility awareness (natural family planning, 25%), sponge (15-30%), diaphragm (15%), condom (15-20%), depo-provera (3%), and iud/implanon/sterilization (<1%).

To be fair, there are some couples who are extremely successful with fertility awareness and withdrawal but typical use yields a very high failure rate. This failure rate may be perfectly acceptable if you do not mind if you become pregnant.

Here is a bundle of web links about contraception effectiveness or failure rates: http://bitly. Com/ymwe13

the choice of contraceptive varies based on multiple factors including failure rate, ease of use, risks, benefits and miscellaneous other individualize issues. ...Read more
