Doctor insights on:
Have been suggested citalopram for anexity but reviews on internet over pssd issue is making me too afraid to take the medicine. Requesting help.
Too afraid of meds?: Not everyone taking an ssri has sexual problems; they may, if they occur, go away on their own or may be treated with other medication. Many with anxiety disorders are often especially afraid of taking medications when in fact the benefits of medication could greatly outweigh any negative effects. Discuss potential risks and benefits with a doctor you trust, not the internet. ...Read more

Every day I take 450mg of a licorice root supplement bottled by solaray. I'm desperate to heal my pssd. How dangerous is my licorice root consumption?
Not dangerous but...: Licorice root has been used medicinally for thousands of years (it may be the most common herb used in chinese medicine). Very rare condition: Although sexual dysfunction is common with ssri's, it usually resolves after stopping the medication. I would make sure you're not still depressed. You're also taking viagra, one proposed treatment. Off-label addition of wellbutrin (bupropion) is another possibility. There are also some reports using saffron during ssri treatment: http://tinyurl. Com/lew8h53 -- may be worth a try in your situation as well. ...Read more

Unlikely: The most important consideration for you is whether your current bowel habits represent a change from your normal routine.
