Pseudomonas Nails What Is Better Vinegar Or Alcohol
I'm very allergic to quinolones. Could topical polysporin (bacitracin and polymyxin) ointment 10k kill pseudomonas in ex. Ear? Could I mix it w/white vinegar to make ear drops?
What are the ingredients of vinegar? Does it have alcohol? I am using vinegar in my diet while taking isotretinoin. Is it ok?
Ear wax: Its safe as long as you don't have an ear infection. I was once tought a similar formula by an ENT friend of mine. He said mix equal parts of hydrogen peroxide, white vinegar, and rubbing alcohol together right before using. Place 3-5 drops in each ear a couple of times per week and you won't have ear wax problems. Hope this helps. ...Read more
I heard that in vinegar, there exists about 0.3 - 0.5% alcohol by producer. Can I use a little bit of rice vinegar in my diet when I am on accutane?
Why?: I am not sure that there would be severe side effects but why would you do this? I assume you are talking about using rubbing alcohol and this is VERY drying. The vinegar is an acid but is at a low strength but again can be drying and will not be helpful for your skin or any open sores. I would strongly reccomend against doing this. ...Read more
Is vinegar the same as alcohol? If I can't drink due to medication interactions and health reasons, can I have apple cider vinegar safely?
Has no alcohol, safe: Vinegar does not contain alcohol. It has acetic acid, a very different chemical. It is very safe though should be diluted before consuming. There are no proven drug interactions; some sites say large amounts might interact with digoxin, insulin and diuretics because it can lower potassium, but it contains potassium so I doubt that. Taking Flagyl; I know no alcohol or soy sauce. Can I safely eat a pickle, or bbq sauce that contains distilled vinegar as an ingredient, tho?
Should be OK: Flagyl (metronidazole) has a very nasty drug interaction with ethyl alcohol (the drinking kind) in which it converts it into formaldehyde. So you will be speeding up your autopsy by the pathologist. There are medicines which contain alcohol and foods too, so check carefully! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can I use vinegar (contains 5% acetic acid) in my diet when I am taking accutane? I'm scared that vinegar will be harmful to liver as alcohol.
NO: Do not put any chemical in your ear with a perforated drum. Many chemicals are ototoxic and may lead to permanent hearing lost and/or vertigo. See an ENT doctor. ...Read more
Why would my son's ear doctor say today to make a vinegar and alcohol solution and said use 1/3 of each?
Treatment for ear: The alcohol displaces any water in the ear to prevent infection; the vinegar (acetic acid) restores the normal acid balance in the ear canal. Use caution if the eardrum (tympanic membrane) may be broken (perforated); see fp or ENT in such cases. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What happens if you inject nyquil, benadryl, (diphenhydramine) surgar, salt, vinegar and alcohol into your muscles?
My son just complained of dizziness and pain after I gave him swimmers ear drops (half vinegar and half alcohol). I would appreciate any suggestions?
Common: The dizziness is quite common if u put the ear drops which are very different in temperature from the surroundings. The pain is common if the ear canal is inflamed and irritated. You shd stop using the drops. Try it again one more time. If the symptoms recur you shd visit his doctor. If the pain was severe it wld be better if u go earlier and do not use the drops again till he is checked out. ...Read more
What is the best home remedy for swimmers ear? I'm traveling- olive oil? Half white vinegar half rubbing alcohol? Other?
Alcohol and vinegar: Alcohol and vinegar in equal parts is the classic recipe from lakeside summer camps. The alcohol disinfects the ear, displaces the water, and evaporates quickly at body temperature. The vinegar restores the normal acidic pH of the skin and prevent fungal growth. Do not use any over the counter drops if you may have a perforated eardrum or a tube in the ear. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I went swimming and I have water trapped on my ear. I used swimmers ear drops, peroxide, alcohol and vinegar mixture, yet I have no relief.
Cerumen: Cerumen or "wax" in the ear canal can trap water against the tympanic membrane (ear drum). Rubbing alcohol helps dehydrate the ear canal. If this persists an otaryngologist should take a look and remove the wax, skin debris or hair causing these symptoms. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

There are many:
Treatments for nail fungus. Not all of them work and some are better than others. I find most topicals in general to not be so effective.
My recommendation would be for oral and even laser as the most effective treatments.
You won't cause any harm trying the vinegar so feel free to try. I don;t think the success rate will be high. ...Read more
