Yes: Although not FDA approved for the treatment of ADHD, it can be a very effective treatment when prescribed "off label". I am prescribed nuvigil for ADHD but it is extremely expensive. Should I try provigil? What's the difference?
Possibly: Many meds have mirror-image versions called isomers. Provigil is a 50:50 blend of l- and d-modafanil, while Nuvigil is pure d-modafanile, the active isomer. Why sun pharmaceuticals can sell modalert 200 mg for 1.59$ and Provigil is $14 is beyond me. Teva has bought cephalon and owns the next 2 companies i line who could make generics. In 2-3 years the price will come down and i'll bet use increases. It's a good medicine. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
