Why would my dr. Only prescribe provera (medroxyprogesterone) and not Clomid if I want to get pregnant?

Why would my dr. Only prescribe provera (medroxyprogesterone) and not Clomid if I want to get pregnant?

First Step: It may be that you are not cycling regularly. Provera (medroxyprogesterone) is commonly used to induce a period when one hasn't come on its own. Clomid is used on specific cycle days; in order to start this therapy you have to determine cycle day one by inducing a menstrual period.

How long does it take for my body get used to Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone)? I'm tired of this spotting and bleeding, only 5 mo with it.

Depo bleeding: Irregular bleeding or spotting is a well known potential side effect of Depo. For some individuals, it gets better with time, but for others, you will bleed irregularly as long as you're on it. If this side effect is truly an issue for you, you may want to consider a different birth control option -such as the pill. Discuss with your doctor and they can assist you in your decision. Best wishes!

If you are overweight does Provera (medroxyprogesterone) work to start your period after having a child?

If you are overweight does Provera (medroxyprogesterone) work to start your period after having a child?

Often, yes: A big factor in when you get your period after delivery is whether you are breast feeding. While the typical time for menses to resume after delivery is about 6 weeks, breast feeding delays this. If return of menses is unexpectedly delayed, a pregnancy test (perhaps others) should be done. Then a Provera (medroxyprogesterone) challenge can be tried. Being even moderately overweight should not affect this.

Can my Synthroid (thyroxine) medicine affect how well my Depo-Provera provera shot works?

Not likely. . .: Neither multicheck from www. Epocrates. Com (requires free registration) nor www. Drugs. Com's interactions checker (http://www. Drugs. Com/interactions-check. Php? Drug_list=1543-929, 1463-869) found any interaction between synthroid (thyroxine) & depoprovera. Just remember that even though you no longer have to worry about taking daily birth control pill, he still needs to wear condom each & every time to lower std.
