First Step: It may be that you are not cycling regularly. Provera (medroxyprogesterone) is commonly used to induce a period when one hasn't come on its own. Depo bleeding: Irregular bleeding or spotting is a well known potential side effect of Depo. For some individuals, it gets better with time, but for others, you will bleed irregularly as long as you're on it. If this side effect is truly an issue for you, you may want to consider a different birth control option -such as the pill. Discuss with your doctor and they can assist you in your decision. Often, yes: A big factor in when you get your period after delivery is whether you are breast feeding. While the typical time for menses to resume after delivery is about 6 weeks, breast feeding delays this. If return of menses is unexpectedly delayed, a pregnancy test (perhaps others) should be done. Then a Provera (medroxyprogesterone) challenge can be tried. Being even moderately overweight should not affect this. ...Read more

Just remember that even though you no longer have to worry about taking daily birth control pill, he still needs to wear condom each & every time to lower std. ...Read more

Not yet: Your body will likely reset itself after your recent d;c. Hold off on the Provera (medroxyprogesterone) and don't take it until your doctor has had a chance to help you figure out why your periods are delayed. ...Read more
