Protein Type Metabolic Diet Menu
Can you tell me if i only eat protein, in large amounts for a very long time could i get metabolic acidosis?
Maybe: As dietary protein is broken down, acids are produced. The more protein intake, the more acids produced. Healthy kidneys can help excrete these acids as well as contribute to generation of a system to buffer the acids in the blood. However if kidney disease develops, the kidney capacity to handle an acid load is diminished and can lead to a metabolic acidosis. Hope this answers your question. ...Read more
refers to all the physical matter humans (like all living creatures) must take in on a recurring basis; only partially for energy. Like all life on planet humans are open systems which keep tearing down their structure & require intake of atoms/molecules from which to rebuild their structure. I have ms. I had a metabolic profile done. Sodium and protein levels were below normal levels. What does this mean?
Not an easy question: If this was one reading it may not mean much. Lab tests like those described often fluctuate. If you are concerned, ask for the tests to be repeated and ask your physician to interpret the findings as compared to the original tests. ...Read more

Is it safe to dismiss a positive ANA speckled with a titer of 1:640 if CBC ok. Lupus panel negative. Metabolic ok. Urine ok. Serum protein ok?
Yes and no: We have a saying in pathology / lab medicine, "treat the person, not the labs." plenty of healthy folks have medium-titer speckled ana's. The real question is, "do we want to treat you for lupus or whatever, with all the unpleasantness that this involves?" i think the answer is "no" based on what you're shared if your physician agrees. Remember the ANA should new symptoms develop. Good question. ...Read more

Yes: Mri is fine but be prepared for normal results. An elevated sed rate and ANA may indicate an inflammatory process in the body. A thorough work up would include hormone evaluation, sleep patterns, infection/immune system testing as well as nutrition review. These presentations can be frustrating so find a doctor that will take the time to listen and evaluate. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Lupus panel negative. Sed rate 30 should b under 20. Ana positive w/ spec pattern. Serum protein electrophoresis test normal. Cbc ok. Metabolic ok.?
Up back pain for 1 yr. Right flank burning. Elev sed rate. Ana + spec 1:640. Lupus panel neg. Cbc ok. Metabolic panel ok. Serum protein ok. Urine ok?
Get renal studies.: This might be nonspecific back muscle pain due to your being overweight or possible something more serious, like herniated disc with nerve compression or possible kidney issue, although kidney/ureter pain would likely be lower. You do have "burning" right flank which still can be kidney involvement. It might be a good idea to see your doctor to get your labs looked at, and an exam to find out. ...Read more

Not even a theory: It's rubbish, intended to sell books without any scientific basis. Eat sensibly, avoid tobacco and other addictions, and exercise. Mom - type 2 diabetic|b.P| creat-6.1, bun -59 (jul 3, 2013). Mom followed low protein diet with her medcn & today crea -5.23, bun -60..Is it promising?
Not much: Although the creatinine improved some a creatinine of either 5.2 or 6.1 is still very high and indicates severe kidney damage has already been done. Your mother should be followed very closely by a nephrologist and try to keep blood pressure controlled sugar is she is diabetic to try and prevent any further worsening. ...Read more

What is a balanced diet for a 3 year old boy? How many times per week does he have to eat meat and chicken? And does other types of proteins like eggs
Kids are great: They tend to eat what they need. They may eat one thing for a week and then stop it and move on to something else. They may eat nothing for days and then eat very well again. Provide him with healthy choices and he will choose what to eat. I worry less about "making" them eat certain things. Some prefer fruits to veggies. Some like meat and others refuse all meat. It is all ok. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What is the best type of exercise and diet for someone with a genetic metabolic myopathy such as CPT II deficiency?
