Propanol Side Effects
Cut myself using "sticker remover". Skin healed but possible got some liquid in open wound. Could this have adverse effects (mutagenic/carcinogenic)? Ingredients of sticker remover are Solvent naphtha and (2-methoxymethylethoxy) propanol.
Doubtful: However if the fluid is pusey, it is likely from an infection which requires medication attention. The mutagenic potential mentioned requires extensive and prolonged exposure. Even then it is just a potential risk and not a certainty. ...Read more
Last year I took 10mg of Propanol and I was so tired from it, a few weeks ago took it and was great, today I took it and it didn't work, felt yuck why?
Hard to say: A medicine like propranolol typically should be taken on a regular schedule. Propranolol is a beta blocker, and when the beta blocker wears off, your heart rate can bounce back up. So one thing to try would be to be on a more regular schedule with the propranolol; of course, it's hard for me to say exactly since I'm not sure precisely what you are taking it for. ...Read more

Not the best combo: Zoloft (sertraline) can inhibit your liver's processing of propanolol, possibly increasing its effect. This could be safe if there's proper monitoring of your blood pressure and pulse. However, there are other beta-blockers that would not have this problem. Talk to your doctor -- or doctors -- about this, and see how best to deal with it. Maybe a change to another beta-blocker than propanolol. ...Read more

My weight is raising after get medication for hyperthiroidism. Can I do exercise? I want standard weight now. Fyi doc here give me ptu (propylthiouracil) and propanol
Hyperthyroidism: Ptu (propylthiouracil) & propanolol are standard drugs used to treat an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) which can lead to weight loss & fast heart rate. Propanolol is a beta blocker that keeps your heart from beating too fast. As ptu (propylthiouracil) normalizes an overactive thyroid, you stop losing weight & return to your normal weight by gaining it back. Healthy nutrition & regular exercise are always good. ...Read more

Taking flunarizine and propanol for migraine prevention. Is it ok to take in long term and does it suppress my immune?
I believe so...: Flunarizine is a calcium channel blocker used overseas (not in US) with good success for migraine prevention. This category of drug has been used for decades & has a good safety profile for long term use. Propranolol is even safer. There is no reason either should suppress your immune system. If they are working well for headache prevention, the benefit/risk analysis seems in favor of taking them. ...Read more
Are these ingr ok for the baby? Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Carbomer, Aminomethyl Propanol Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin
Nobody knows?: There are millions of ingredients in the world. Haven't seen a list or public database showing which ingredients are safe (what does "safe" really mean?), in which amounts, in combination with which other ingredients, in what age babies, for how long, for treating which conditions? In general, few ingredients are tested in babies. Parents rightfully don't want their babies experimented upon. ...Read more

Hello I am having chest tightness since last night which is causing shortness of breathe. I am on propanol for headache.?
Would these cause a positive ETG test. Cetyl, Stearyl, Cetearyl alcohols. Panthenol, Phenoxyethenol, Butylene Glycol, Propanol, Propylene Glycol.?
Only ethanol makeEtG: Those compounds aren't metabolized to EtG. Food products (vanilla), hygiene products, mouthwash, or OTC medications (cough syrups) containing ethanol can cause EtG levels to exceed 100 ng/mL but not 500 ng/mL. If measurable ethanol is detected (greater than. 04 gm%) in the urine & EtG is >250 ng/mL, or if EtG > 500 ng/mL, then this is very strong evidence that beverage alcohol was consumed. ...Read more
