What does nodular peripherad enhancement mean on a mri. My husband had a cancerous mass (adenocarcinoma of lung) removed from calcaneus previously?

I have a 3.5 cm. Starburst mass, in my lower right lobe of my lung,so what is next. ?

If possible, this is done through a scope passed down the windpipe. Sometimes that won't reach and biopsy must be done through the chest wall, guided by CT scan. In special cases biopsy is done with a scope through the chest wall or surgically. ...Read more

Could be recurrence: This needs to be worked up - it could be recurrent cancer, or possibly reactive, especially if radiation therapy was performed. See the oncologist and ask for specifics about this finding. Was the pet scan positive in the same area? If so, that raises the concern, but it still could be reactive. ...Read more

Ct images reveal a spiculated mixed attenuating solid mass at the superior segment of the left lower lobe lungs est. Vol of 203cc. Der are minute calc?

Probable biopsy: A spiculated mass is often worrisome for cancer. However this also could be from a prior lung infection. Your doctors may consider a needle biopsy of the mass or a pet/ct scan. It would be helpful to compare this finding with any old chest xrays or ct scans to see if this is a new mass. ...Read more

My 49 yr old husband was diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma. It has mets to brain liver foot humorous adrenal glands. What is prognosis?

Guarded: Metastatic lung cancer has a pretty bad prognosis as I am sure his oncologist would have told him or you. The avergae survival is 6 months to 12 months. But there are some new treatments recently made available which have increased survivorship. These treatments depend on gene test results done on his tumor. Just ask your docotr if his cancer has been tested for gene mutations and if he is a candi. ...Read more
