Is 8 a low number for the result of a day-21 progesterone test if i'm trying to conceive w/o success

Fertility meds: Your progesterone level is very low which is a sign that you didn't ovulate this month. This goes along with having polycystic ovaries. I'm actually surprised that you have regular periods. It's possible that you will need fertility medications (such as Clomid (clomiphene) or Clomiphene) to help you ovulate better to speed up the time to conception. Doctor may need to give you progesterone to menstruate. ...Read more

Maybe: It is hard to know whether that dose would suppress ovulation. Chances are it won't but it could still prevent pregnancy through changes in the endometrium and cervical mucous. Differences in absorption of oral Progesterone would account for the uncertainty in suppression. Many ovulate, despite high doses of progesterone. You should resume normal function after discontinuation. ...Read more

How do progesterone shots work for fertility? And how long should you be on them while trying to conceive?

How do progesterone shots work for fertility? And how long should you be on them while trying to conceive?

Fertility?: Progesterone shots do not affect your fertility directly - at all. They can be used to start a period if you are late or skipped, they can be used to 'supplement' luteal Progesterone if a woman has luteal phase defect - which is not a fertility problem. There are no other medically appropriate uses, hope this helps! ...Read more
