Progesterone Level Test
On chlomid 50mg I had a progesterone level test done at cycle day 21 and nurse said my level was a 7.5 can I still get pregnant at that level?
Yes you can: Yes, you definitely ovulated so it's still possible to get pregnant. When you check a progesterone level it measures just a single point in time. If they measured it again in 12-24 hours the result could be different. It's true though that we want progesterone to be > or = 12 for a strong ovulation. If you don't conceive they might go up on Clomid (clomiphene) dose. ...Read more

My progesterone level is 6, does this indicate ovulation? My cycle is 32 day with ov. predicted day 19, this was tested 4 dpo, did I test too early?
Progesterone level 0.14 on 22nd day of cycle.Clomid (clomiphene) 100 mg taken from days 5-9.Is it normal? If not was it that the test done early chances of pregnanc
Didn't ovulate: A Progesterone level that low simply means you have not ovulated - at least not within about 3 days before the level was drawn. It's possible you might ovulate in the next few days, but usually i cancel Clomid (clomiphene) cycles if not ovulation by day 25. Your doctor may do differently. Pregnancy chances are quite low at this point, i'm sorry to say. ...Read more
My blood test came back with an hCG level of 76 and a progesterone level of 31.6. What does that mean?
Early pregnancy: An HCG level can indicate a very early pregnancy - as long as the level continues to rise (roughly doubling every 48-72 hours), then that is a good sign that the pregnancy is progressing normally. A Progesterone level > 25 is generally a good sign of a healthy pregnancy. ...Read more
Do u think I test for progesterone level early Clomid (clomiphene) day 5-9 progesterone level 3.6 day 20 instead of 21?
Chances of being pregnant on chlomid 50mg ? on cycle day 21 I had progesterone level of 7.5Took pregnancy test today neg.Is 7.5 to low?
Want P4 higher: While it's true that the ideal peak progesterone (P4) level is 12 or above, it's still possible to get pregnant on a cycle with a P4 level of 7.5. Your doctor should consider increasing your dose to 100mg next time. The fact that your home pregnancy test is negative pretty much confirms that you are not pregnant. ...Read more
Doctor checked my blood progesterone level and confirmed am not ovulating. What would be the next step? Will he prescb any medicatn or repeat the test?
My hCG went from 11000 to 49000 at 7 weeks. Should it be higher than that? My previous test was at 6 weeks pregnant. My progesterone level is 79
That is about right: During very early pregnancy, the hgc rises/doubles in about 48-72 hours. Say your is about 72 hours=3 days. 11000 doubles to 22000, then again doubles another 72hrs, thus =44000, with 5000 left for the 7th day; just an estimate. Just remember, everyone is different. Follow doc's advice. Congrats on the pregnancy and best of luck to you. ...Read more
My Progesterone level was 1.2, this was checked in the morning 3 days post ovulation. Day prior to ovulation ultrasound showed a 16mm follicle which was 4 days prior to test. I'm concerned its low, is this too low to
conceive? Did I ovulate?
Ovulation testing: Ovulation testing should be done in the midluteal phase typically 7 days after ovulation. Testing 3 days after is a bit odd and makes it very hard to interpret the result. I would see an Obgyn and schedule official ovulation testing. These tests must be done in a particular way to get interpretable results ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Cervix seems very sensitive during early pregnancy (4 wks). Brown spotting and bleeding after sex. Is a test of progesterone level needed?
No: The cervical blood vessels can be very near the surface. They are more engorged with blood and become more fragile due to the pregnancy and increased estrogen. The cervix always seems more "touchy" and cramps during pregnancy. All of this is normal. But you should be checked to make sure there is no other cause for your bleeding. ...Read more
Femara (letrozole) cd 3-7. Ovidrel shot 7/19.Iui on 7/20 & 7/21. Ovulation confirmed. Progesterone level is 9.38 hcg 719. Could i be pregnant? too early to test?
Patience...: A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after "sex" (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. If a woman gets her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant, and a test is not needed. ...Read more
