Why is bioidentical compounded testosterone covered for men by insurance but few female hormones mostly synthetic and no compounded ones for Women are?

Why is bioidentical compounded testosterone covered for men by insurance but few female hormones mostly synthetic and no compounded ones for Women are?

It's a Mystery: One of my greatest frustrations in caring for patients is dealing with insurance coverages. Not only are their discrepancies between sexes but every year they change forcing us to treat the patient with what is covered and not what is best for them. Another example is Breast Reconstruction is covered after breast cancer but testicular prosthesis is not covered after testicular cancer. Mind Boggling ...Read more

Is testosterone treatment for aging men comparable for hormone replacement therapy for menopausal women?

Yes: Having been in this situation, i can tell you that balancing out hormones in men is just as important as doing so for women. Men lose their sex drive, become Insulin resistant, lose their vitality. I'll post a page later that describes my own personal treatment success. I feel great at almost 52 years of age. ...Read more

Witch more safe for low testosterone at man 49 years old androgel or clomid (clomiphene) ?

Unknown: There are no good long term studies looking at the safety of testosterone or clomiphene in men. Natural progesterone cream instead of prometrium (micronized progesterone) work? How do I get the progest. I need without prescription, is it worth using cream for infertility?

Drugs are similar: "natural" Progesterone and Prometrium (micronized progesterone) are really the same medication.Prometrium (micronized progesterone) is the only brand name Progesterone in a micronized capsule. Normally Progesterone would be digested by the gut, so it needs to be made differently. For both these you would need a physician prescription, but there are lower dose, less refined alternatives available otc or online. Not infertility meds by themselves. ...Read more

Can I use maximum strength hydrocortison anti-itch cream 1% for vagina itching?

Can I use maximum strength hydrocortison anti-itch cream 1% for vagina itching?

You can, but...: ...Whether it works will depend on the cause. If it's due to a yeast infection, for example, the effect will be temporary at best. Still, it won't hurt to try, and if it doesn't work, see your doctor and find out the cause. And by the way, "maximum strength" is a marketing slogan; 1% hc cream is actually not very strong at all - it's just the maximum you can buy without a prescription. ...Read more
