My husband hit his face about a month ago. He has a very watery nasal discharge, but also has allergy symptoms. Should we worry about brain fluid leak?
My 2.8 yrold has runny nose- and a cough at night-- no fever-- 2 days in.. He's had tons of colds -this time his nasal discharge is thicker and yellow?
Sounds like : Postnasal drainage causing the coughing spells . Need antihistamine to take care of the colds which eventually takes care of the cough. Change in color of colds does not indicate bacterial infection , virus ,allergies can do the same. Watchful waiting and supportive treatment at this time since he is not running fever. See Peds if condition worsened. ...Read more
My son is 9 months old. I think he has some seasional allergies. He is sneezing a lot, red watery eyes, and runny nose and all discharge is clear?
Don't assume allergy: If i blow pepper in your face, you sneeze & drain the same as those with allergy. I find babies have more congestion with scented cleaning products, perfume, smoke & other irritants than they do with animal dander or pollens. The tiny nasal passages that become very noisy with a little mucous or swelling gives many the wrong idea. Thease are not little copies of adult problems, their issues differ. ...Read more
Can Ipratropium Bromide nasal spray help with post-nasal drip? No runny nose or front nasal discharge, just the drip. Not linked to allergy (per ENT)
Depends: It depends on the cause for the post-nasal drips. If the nasal drips is not linked to nasal stuffiness, sneezing, or runny nose, one needs to consider other causes (sinus infection for example). If your nose and eyes itch, it is likely from allergy which can confirmed by the history and skin testing. One can't tell whether one has an allergic problem by looking at the nose and throat alone. ...Read more
