Products That Contain Vitamins A C E And B 3
I see vitamin water drinks that claim to have B and A vitamins, biotin, and 1000iu of vit. D in one bottle. Are these a scam and/or safe?
Better Sources: Vits: Vitamin waters are a reasonable beverage, as long as the sugar is low. However, to obtain your optimal levels of nutrition, one should try and consume Whole Foods. There are water-soluble and fat-soluble vits. Obviously, with a vitamin water, it may be a challenge to deliver to the body a fat-soluble vitamin like Vit. D. Food Sources of Vitamin D: Fish, Fish liver oils, Beef liver, cheese & eggs. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Prenatal vitamins only contain beta-carotene. My diet includes foods with preformed vitamin a and carotenoid and wonder if my baby will be deficient.
Avoid preformed Vit: Preformed vit a is the most common known source of birth defects. That is the risk to the baby. Also avoid any additional beta carotene. Foods contain a variety of carotenes. Eat normal vegies and fruits..Note that metformin causes low vit b12. B12 can be checked by a blood test or it can be supplied as a supplement which is not a risk to the baby. Do not take preformed vit a except in very small. ...Read more
I can't find isolated vitamin b1 (thiamine) in local drug stores, only a full vitamin b complex. Does any of b vitamins interact with zoloft?
While taking a prenatal vitamin is folate (in whole food vitamins) and folic acid (synthetic vitamins) the same? Or is one better than the other?
The same!: Folate is another name for folic acid, and for prevention of birth defects, or for any other purpose, there is absolutely no difference in effectiveness between Folic Acid that has been made in the lab and Folic Acid from a natural product. You should definitely take a prenatal vitamin that contains one or the other, but the manufacturing process is up to you! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

See http://www.livonlabs.com/cgi-bin/start.cgi/liposome-encapsulated/lypo-spheric-vitamin-c.html Another good choice is Buffered Vitamin C powder from Allergy Research Group. Pure Encapsulations and Thorne Research also have Ascorbic Acid and Buffered Ascorbic Acid. ...Read more

Vitamin A: Unless you have a lab study indicating that your vitamin a is low I suggest you not use cod liver old unless your doc asked you to. Neither: Depends on who makes it for them as neither makes their own. You need "mixed tocopherols" to benefit your health not just vit e which is usually just one form of the many and is a synthetic which is cheaper but can lead to bad outcomes. I use pure encapsulations brand, other good quality ones are from orthomolecular, metagenics. Read label and remember you get what you pay for! ...Read more
If my multivitamin already contains all b vitamins would additionally taking a b complex be useless?
Not necessarily: This depends on the amount ; type of b vits. In the multivit. Some mulitivits have only the recommended daily intake ; many folks benefit from taking much higher amounts. About half the population has genetic difficulty converting Folic Acid to the active form (l-5-mthf) ; those benefit from taking a vit. With the l-5-mthf form. Also, some need active forms of other b's such as pyridoxal-5-phosphate. ...Read more

I was advised to avoid Vit C prior to having fillers, Juvederm. Is that for actual Vit C supplement or should I also avoid foods containing vitamin C?
Vitamin C: There is no reason to stop Vitamin C before having HA facial fillers.
