Just be glad: Truth be told, everybody is so happy to see the good results you got that nobody cares about the red marks, which will fade in a few months. Congratulations on staying the course. You may eventually need to repeat it and/or take other milder medicines to keep your disease at bay. But you will no longer have to worry about failing a job interview because of your acne. Meds: Many patients do well with over the counter benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid preparations. Some patients require topical or oral antibiotics or retinoids as well. Can I use azaderm (azelaic acid) as an over-the-counter product to remove post acne inflammatory hyperpigmentation red marks?
Won't work: It's not a bad option for preventing new lesions from forming. The red and/or pigmented lesions need to fade over time. If you are still getting lesions, and topical agents aren't clearing them, please get with your physician. ...Read more
