HPV-18 and ASC-H positive results led to a LEEP procedure. First pap smear 11 months later resulted in negative HPV test, but ASC-H present. Why?
Too many acronyms : Whenever a test is done somebody has to say what is positive or negative in a result about it. These are all summed up in the sensitivity and specificity of the particular test. It depends: It depends on what the abnormalities were and the time frame. Sometimes biopsies are done to be sure there is nothing worse than what is shown on the pap and the abnormality is then safely followed with paps to be sure it doesn't get worse. ...Read more
