So, useful for more than one reason. IBS: If you have IBS and this is not a new issue for you, that may just be you. With a normal colonoscopy, unlikely to be anything else. Possibly: But nocturnal symptoms are unusual in IBS and rarely awaken an individual from sleep in and of themselves. Would definitely warrant a visit to your internist or gastroenterologist to be sure you do not have something else like IBD and not IBS. IBD is much more likely to cause nocturnal symptoms that wake you up. ...Read more

Take some: Reassurance, if you are seeing blood it's unlikely to be related to more concerning things like colon cancer, colonic polyps(which can become cancer) or inflammatory bowel disease(like ulcerative colitis or crohn's disease). These very concerning conditions would be very unlikely to be missed by two colonoscopies within 3 years, particularly if the preparation was good. ...Read more

See CR Surgeon: Anal bleeding in a young person with a normal colonoscopy will most likely be from either internal hemorrhoids or an anal fissure. You would most likely have pain with bowel movements with the latter. Try taking a fiber supplement for a couple weeks. If you still bleed, see a colorectal surgeon. ...Read more
