What amount million cfu in probiotics should I take for candida?

What amount million cfu in probiotics should I take for candida?

It depends: ...mostly on where your candida infection is. Candida is usually treated with an antifungal agent, such as ketoconazole, for example. Prrobiotics in and of themselves will not treat a Candida infection. I would speak to your primary care or GI doctor. Good luck. ...Read more

Probiotic (Definition)

There are several species of these bacteria that are helpful to us including lactobacillus acidophilus. The meats we eat contain antibiotics that kill our natural bacteria that reside in our gut. Is it possible to have candida die off reaction from starting new probiotics? Have had drunk feeling several weeks. Started when I began probiotic.

Is it possible to have candida die off reaction from starting new probiotics? Have had drunk feeling several weeks. Started when I began probiotic.

Yes: Yes, certain probiotics may help to kill candida resulting in a Jarisch-Herxheimer or die-off reaction. This is caused by toxins from the dead yeast which can trigger inflammatory cytokines. Drinking more water, taking chlorella and/or charcoal, a good multivitamin, liposomal glutathione, milk thistle and natural anti-inflammatory agents like curcumin should help.Die-off symptoms lessen over time. ...Read more

Okay so I have been trying to solve my candida problem but it keeps coming back. I've done a yeast cleanse and been taking probiotic what is the deal?

Okay so I have been trying to solve my candida problem but it keeps coming back. I've done a yeast cleanse and been taking probiotic what is the deal?

Antifungal: Next step would be taking an antifungal medication. Nystatin is effective and is by far the safest. If that doesn't work i'd have to ask you what do you mean by "candida problem"? If you truly have a chronic mucosal fungal infection and are not taking oral antibiotics i'd order tests for diabetes mellitus and immunodeficiency. Mucosal means the lining of the digestive tract &, in women, the vagina. ...Read more

Hey i'm taking gnc 10 bilion probiotic complex becoz yeast overgrowth.is taking gnc 25 bilion or 50 bilion is for fast recovery from candida overgrowt?

Hey i'm taking gnc 10 bilion probiotic complex becoz yeast overgrowth.is taking gnc 25 bilion or 50 bilion is for fast recovery from candida overgrowt?

No: That cannot be assumed to be true, because almost NONE of the probiotic supplements have scientific studies proving a particular supplement at particular doses can lead to "fast" recovery from a particular disease. "Yeast overgrowth" is very vague, because it does not say HOW MUCH overgrowth, nor even WHERE in the body the overgrowth is, or which TYPE of yeast. Usually, supplements are "untested". ...Read more

Taking cran, nettle, probiotics n my vaginal fluid was white n burning on hubby after sex. If yeast, how do u know if it candida or reg yeast?

Doctor: The only way to distinguish btw different types yeast is to get a yeast culture from your doctor. Having said that, OTC anit-fungals are going to treat most yeast. Sometimes women have strains of candida that need to be treated with pills, such as Diflucan (fluconazole). Your home remedies are great, but may not get rid of yeast. If I were you I would try some OTC anti-fungals for the vagina. 5 or 7 day best ...Read more

Hey is garden of life men multivitamin is good for yeast overgrowth ( candida ) i'm taking gnc probiotics nd multivitamin please explain thx ..

Not exactly but...: I recommend everyone take a good multivitamin including those with candida issues, and Garden of Life Men's multivitamin is one of the better ones out there, but that alone won't do much if anything to treat the yeast. Treatment involves minimizing sugars and starches, taking antifungal herbs and/or drugs and probiotics. Treatment takes 3-6 months. See http://tinyurl.com/zhnhbfx for details. ...Read more

What probiotic is good for candida yeast gnc 50 ultra 50 probiotic complex or gnc multi strain probiotic conplex 10 billion cfus ? Plz suggest me thx.

Probably won't help: No probiotic is likely to be effective in treating a yeast infection. If that's what you have, you need treatment with a proper anti-yeast antibiotic. However, if you're talking about "systemic" candidasis, it's an urban myth; there is no such thing, and no treatment makes any difference. Discuss with a scientifically trained physician. Good luck! ...Read more

Hey please suggest me best probiotic brand for yeast overgrowth ( candida ) and best brand multivitamin for fast recovery i'm on candida free diet thx?

No single best: There's no one best probiotic or multivitamin for everyone.I advise a heat-stable probiotic with multiple strains and at least 20 billion per capsule-good brands include Renew Life, Advanced Naturals,PB8 and Prescript Assist. See http://www.yeastinfectionadvisor.com/probioticsforyeast.html Also many good multi's including UltraNutrient by Pure Encapsulations and Garden of Life Mykind Men's Multi. ...Read more

Took 3 months of antibiotics. Are probiotics enough to kill candida? Or should I consult a doctor ?

Took 3 months of antibiotics. Are probiotics enough to kill candida? Or should I consult a doctor ?

Can try herbs too: Generally probiotics won't directly kill candida but will help to replace candida that have been killed by drugs or herbs. Many herbs kill candida like pau d'arco, garlic & oregano oil. If this doesn't help you can ask a doc to prescribe antifungal meds. A low-starch diet is also important. Don't know if I have yeast or candida yeast infection. Taking Monistat n probiotics. Should I go on candida diet just in case???

Candida is yeast: Candida albicans is responsible for yeast infections. If you are not sure what is causing your symptoms I suggest seeing your doctor to confirm and rule out any other causes. There have been no real studies on the Candida diet that I am aware of. If you get the diagnosis confirmed there is no harm in trying it. Avoiding lots of sugar, white flour and processed foods is a good idea for us all. ...Read more

I have candida with seborrheic dermatitis on scalp how mamy cfu in billion probiotics i should take and which one is best plz help thx ..

Wrong question: No probiotic will help this. Seborrheic dermatitis in not cured, but responds to a variety of treatments. Candida is a yeast NORMALLY present which may proliferate with certain conditions, notably exposure to antibiotics. Some treatments help seborrheic dermatitis and also inhibit yeasts such as candida. These include azoles orally or topically, selenium sulfide, zinc pyrethione.Cortisones are also ...Read more

What is the most effective, preferrably natural, way to abolish candida? I have tried all the creams, fluconazol, nystatin, probiotics & coconut oil.

What is the most effective, preferrably natural, way to abolish candida? I have tried all the creams, fluconazol, nystatin, probiotics & coconut oil.

No single best way: Different strains of candida are sensitive/resistant to diff. Treatments so there is no single best way. It is ideal to do a culture with a lab like genova or doctor's data that will do sensitivity testing to see what works best, but it doesn't always grow on culture. No treatment will work without a very low starch diet for several months. I advise consulting a holistic md with expertise in this. ...Read more

Best multivitamin or vitamin to get rid of candida overgroqth and scalp fungus i'm taking gnc probiotic 10 billion conplex ?

Scalp problems: Vitamins in this setting have only limited use. Best to see a doctor for proper evaluation. In this modern age, vitamin deficiencies are rare as long as you eat a balanced diet (and are not vegetarian). I advocate getting vitamins, minerals and micronutrients from food rather than wasting money on supplements. It's a big marketing scam. Try selenium sulphide shampoo while you wait for an apt. ...Read more

Me= yeast infection for 3 mos. Tried creams, boric acid, Candida diet, probiotics, garlic, etc. Taking iron pills 4 anemia- could that be feeding it?

Yeast infection: You do not say whether you have used anti-fungals in your treatment, either topically or orally. That is the best way to treat Candida vulvovaginitis. Iron is highly unlikely to have anything to do with this. If you persist despite this you may be being reinfected by your sexual partner and they could be treated as well. If still an issue make sure your immune system is intact. Good luck. ...Read more
