Also. Can you take probiotics with cipro?

Also. Can you take probiotics with cipro?

Probiotics are fine: You can pay money for "probiotics" or just eat them in your food like in yogurt, sour cream or yogurt drinks. The only time I don't recommend probiotics is if the body is very weak, and "too much" of a good thing can be bad. There are cases where very sick and weaken patients developed infections from the probiotics themselves. This doesn't seem to apply in ur case, - some patients get indigestion ...Read more

Probiotic (Definition)

Probiotics, by definition, are beneficial bacteria that live in our intestinal tract to help us maintain health intestines and colon. There are several species of these bacteria that are helpful to us including lactobacillus acidophilus. The meats we eat contain antibiotics that kill our natural bacteria that reside in our gut. Today, you will replace these ...Read more

Can i eat yoghurt 14 hours after my last dose of ciprofloxacin? I haven't been taking any probiotics while on cipro and i feel like i need them.

Yes: Although yogurt should not be taken at the time you take ciprofloxacin, you can eat yogurt 2 hours before or 2 ours after taking it. Although probitoics may be killed by the medication, it is not harmful to take while on the medication. Taking probiotics after finishing the antibiotic is particularly helpful. ...Read more

What probiotic pill may I take with my Cipro antibiotic?

What probiotic pill may I take with my Cipro antibiotic?

Natural probiotics: I believe 'natural' probiotics are better than pills. My personal favorite is yogurt - which these days comes in many brands and formulations like yogurt drinks. If you're not a yogurt fan, there is sour cream, (raw) sauerkraut, kimchi, and kombucha. With cipro, the major side-effects are nausea, diarrhea, weakness of tendons, and dizziness. If you take yogurt, separate the dose of Cipro from it. ...Read more

Taking Flagyl and cipro for diverticulitis. Should i take probiotics at same time? Can i eat nuts and seeds now or after symptoms (pain) goes away?

Taking Flagyl and cipro for diverticulitis. Should i take probiotics at same time? Can i eat nuts and seeds now or after symptoms (pain) goes away?

Probiotics are safe.: Probiotics will not affect your antibiotic treatment for diverticulitis and are safe to take. I would avoid eating anything with seeds or nuts as these may get stuck in a diverticulum and cause a flare of diverticulitis. Risk of recurrence is drastically reduced by removing the diseased part of the colon. ...Read more

Took cipro/flagyl for 2wks. For suspected sibo. Felt great while on it. Now the gas is coming back. Which probiotic should I begin? 38/male.

Took cipro/flagyl for 2wks. For suspected sibo. Felt great while on it. Now the gas is coming back. Which probiotic should I begin? 38/male.

SIBO, documented?: Treatment is often offered empirically when sibo (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) is suspected. However symptoms recur when the antibiotics are gone. Is this due to underlying ibs, regrowth of bacteria (or resistant ones!), parasites, altered GI transit, or something else? Bifidobacter-containing probiotics may reduce gassiness, a xifaxan trial may help, but evaluation is best pursued now. ...Read more
