Is an immediate acne breakout (within a week) a result of stopping antibiotics or starting a high dosage probiotics?
Possibly: If you were having problems with acne breakouts, it is possible that continuous antibiotic administration was suppressing your acne tendency. When you discontinued steady antibiotic intake, skin bacteria may have proliferated causing an outbreak. A dermatologist is best qualified to answer your question, however. I don't think taking probiotics was the cause of the outbreak. ...Read more

Started a regimen of probiotics 10B CFUs/day. Are they really important for your health, or just a fad? If not a fad, what is a good dosage?

Perhaps this rebalancing occurred and resulted in initial benefit for you, but further flora adaptation has occurred and lessened the favorable effect. More is not better. Just stop, or try another brand/bacteria. ...Read more

No worries, but...: There are many Lactobacillus types, and various studies have tried amounts of 1-10 billion CFUs (colony forming units) in babies, without seeing any bad side effects.
