Why do men read fine print better than women? I read that men are able to read fine print better than women, why is that true?
A matter of accuracy: Medication dosage often needs precision for the illness or to make the meds last. There is a problem using common kitchen measures to do so. If I want a kid to get 5ml of med/dose, I could write for a teaspoon, but some common teaspoons would measure out 3.5ml and some 7. Over time I could under or over medicate the patient. Millileters are easily measured by syringes or droppers & assure accuracy. ...Read more
Likely...: At forty years of age most people will begin to have problems reading small print and will need bifocals. At 30, presbyopia or needing bifocals, is unlikely. Organ printing: human cells + biological solution promotes specific tissue types (differentiation). Using a special computer tool (cell printer), cells are dispensed thru valves to print out and create droplets of cells of varying concentration (now in a 3d manner). If not killed, can be manipulated into different cell types/structures.
T.E: living cells are engineered to repair/replace tissues. ...Read more
Nice idea but no: It would be very nice if a report could be generated with the physician's interpretation as well as selected abnormal examples. However eegs contain huge amounts of data, even in a one second tracing, much more than a 12 lead ekg. This because there are many more waveforms to be displayed and accurate display may require at least several seconds of recorded data to be reproduced. ...Read more

One of your doctors has replied me that a spyrometry test prints out an interpretation. Can it actually print out a defining print out stating the words abnormal and asthmatic?
No it cannot.: The interpretation that accompanies spirometry tests indicates lung volume and function as a percentage of normal findings. The diagnosis of asthma also includes finding out how much these abnormal values can be reversed with use of bronchodilators (inhalers that open up tubes in the lungs). Asthma is a disease of both inflamed and narrowed airways that can be mostly reversed. ...Read more

Cant read the fine print with bifocals without getting a headache. If I go without, could it cause eye damage?
Bifocal Headaches: The direct response is that 'not using the appropriate near spectacle correction won't cause eye damage', but you will not see the fine print and will likely get headaches. Your headache when wearing the bifocals could have many reasons: too strong a bifocal. Eyes not working together at close range - we call it "phoria'- even insufficient bifocal power. In short to go to an ophthalmologist. ...Read more
Can I drink wine while taking cephalexin 500mg. There was no warnings on the bottle or print out. I am currently taking this to heal a boil.
Don't recommend it: Alcohol is not a good choice when trying to treat an infection. It impairs the ability of the white blood cells to fight bacteria and produce antibodies. In addition, alcohol causes a variety of drug interactions, including with antibiotics used to treat infections. The treatment for boils is surgical, and if they are incised and drained, antibiotics are not always necessary. Would avoid alcohol. ...Read more

What is eye accommodative spasm? Had lasik for myopia. Can see small print, but distance vision goes blurry after computer. Any fix for this?
"Stiff Focusing": Accomodative inertia/spasm. As we get older, the flexible lens in our eye that is responsible for focusing at various distances becomes "stiff". Many patients as they reach age 40 will notice that it takes more effort to see at near. Some who can muster enough focusing power for near work will have trouble relaxing their focusing muscles to see at distance. Frequent breaks/ weak reading glasses. ...Read more
