Get diagnosed: Your jerks might represent myoclonus, and unlikely that Primidone is culprit, as it usually suppresses tremors, and focal seizures. But in some cases, older anti-epileptic drugs, especially those metabolized to barbiturates, could worsen myoclonus. Get this phenomenon diagnosed, and revise therapy as needed. Both of these meds can be very effective but have potential for different types of movements: shaking, akathisia, tremor ; tardive dyskinesia.
