It's not ALWAYS bad: Primacor (milrinone) is actually quite useful in appropriate situations. It is commonly used in acute cardiogenic shock, especially from stunned myocardium post heart attack and reperfusion. It is also used commonly post bypass surgery. It is bad when used recurrently in chronic end-stage CHF patients, as it will increase mortality in these patients. It can be used palliatively, however. ...Read more
