Unlikely: Just about any medication could theoretically affect your sleep however often the side effects listed for drugs come from things patients report during clinical trials which may or may not be from the drug. Personally i don't believe ppis cause insomnia and there may be something else at play with your sleep. ...Read more

IBS care: Treating your ibs starts with adequate fiber in your diet in natural or supplement form. Then you should add some probiotics - lactobacillus/acidophilus in whatever form is available. You should keep a diary of foods that are more irritating to you. Consider having your doctor test you for food allergies. 5 wks of 7.5mg Omeprazole was giving my 10 wk baby insomnia,started on Zantac (ranitidine) 1 ml x 3 on Tues.Reflux now much worse & baby very upset,do I persevere?

Reflux: The meds usually don't have much of an effect on the quantity of spit up. They help with the irritability of the reflux to prevent acid from causing the pain. It's all weight dependent so without a weight can't say if the Zantac (ranitidine) is the correct dosage or not. If the quantity is a lot then we sometimes thicken feeds through the bottle to help the reflux. ...Read more

Stomach pain: You have stomach pain but why is unclear. The omeprazole tells your stomach cells to secrete less acid. You don't say if that made you feel better. Then you took another medicine which neutralizes the acid in the stomach. Again you don't report on how you feel with it. So talk with your doc or get another! ...Read more
