Will prilosec otc be just as effective if I start taking it every other day rather than everyday? Its somewhat expensive to buy and wanted to buy less
I take Prilosec to prevent my acid reflux from occurring. I take 1 OTC version every other day. Is it dangerous to take for 1 yr? Other options?
Depends: There are a lot of serious side effects including osteoporosis, a higher risk for pneumonia and even food allergies, dementia etc but the incidence is not high. Every drug has a risk/benefit ratio. If your discomfort is severe enough, you may need the medication. Weight reduction, avoiding coffee, tea, alcohol, fatty, and spicy food may help. Discuss with doctor if still concerned. ...Read more
