I'm taking cellcept and I asked my Rheumi if I could take biotin and she said no. I'm experiencing a lot of hair loss and it's depressing.?
Biotin: Isn't the treatment to your hair loss, and your treating rheumatologist has a logic behind advising against using it. Hair loss can be due to your original disease or another problem, cellcept isn't known for this side effect, kindly ask to be seen by a dermatologist for evaluation, best wishes ...Read more

Alopecia areata occurs when the body's immune system attacks hair follicles and causes hair to fall out. Androgenetic (or androgenic) alopecia, on the other hand, is an inherited form of hair loss. With alopecia areata, hair can fall out in patches all over the body. With androgenetic alopecia, hair on the head first thins and then falls out. In men, this is called male pattern hair loss; in women, it is called ...Read more

Changed to hard water and experiencing hair loss, how long does it take to regrow and what can I do to prevent more loss?
Most Hair: Loss in woman is due to some kind of stressor that causes more hair follicles than normal to go inactive. Some of our hair follicles are inactive at anytime. This stress was usually 4-6 months before the hair loss and they see it everywhere not in just one spot or patches. If it's not like that see dermatology. Still not clear.: Minoxidil is a 40-year-old drug first used to treat high blood pressure. Hair growth was a common side-effect.
