For years, the left nose piece on my glasses would cause a open sore on my nose. Now, I have had glasses that the nose piece doesn't rub the bridge of?
I have a very sore bump on the side of my nose. Does not appear to have any exudate, just raised and very touchy. Right where glasses sit .
Painful papule: Try using benzoyl peroxide acne products on it or antibiotic ointment after washing throroughtly. Evaluation needed: Glasses should fit comfortably although some with nose pieces may impress a sort of trench on the site of contact. But the area should not be swollen, crusty or painful. First check with the optician who made the glasses and see if the fit is way off. Sore throat, cough and a runny nose. I always end up with bronchitis when I have these symptoms. Is there anything i can do to prevent it?
Early cold: If you start with early cold symptoms (which can be confusing with allergies), start nasal saline irrigations. Neilmed sinus rinse is a great product, though many others are commercially available. I would do them at least 3x a day for the next several days. Wearing glasses: Don't worry. Although the pads of the glasses that push on the nose may make small skin indentations throughout the day, the weight of most glasses isn't enough to change the shape of the bone underneath, even if worn constantly. If you need glasses, wear them. Don't skip wearing sunglasses for sure! good UV sunglasses can help prevent development of cataracts later in life. ...Read more
