Prestiq Stopped Working
See a psychiatrist: Any change in psychotropic medication can result in some mood instability as the brain adapts to the change in meds. However "crazy mood swings" or those that are not improving after 2-4 weeks may indicate that a medication change is needed. Severe imbalances can increase suicidal risk, so it is critical that you work closely with a psychiatrist to "settle things down, " and then it should stop. ...Read more

Needs more correctio: Ortho k can improve small amounts of myopia although it is a trade off of wearing a lens during the day for a "keeper" lens at night. It does not work for higher degrees of myopia nor does it stop progression. You may be in either of these categories. Check in with a regular ophthalmologist, rather than an optometrist, to evaluate this. ...Read more

My sister-inlaw diagnosis w/Fibro several yrs ago @ that time stopped working. She is worse, won't get out of bed. Dr she had lost liscense. Advice needed.
Advice: Get into contact with local government health and social services, as this could be a huge challenge to encounter by yourself. You may need advice from social services and psychology as to what is possible and feasible to turn all of this around. This appears well beyond a medical issue and could be very complex. Are other relatives available?? ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

I had zolpidem they have stopped working I'm now on zopiclone but they hardly work what els can I take.
Insomnia treatment: Medications for insonmnia, including zolpidem and zopiclone are indicated for short term treatment of insomnia. Over longer periods of time, these types of medications often stop working, prompting people to switch medications or increase the doses. These strategies usually do not work in the long run and also can (at times) promote addictive issues. Cognitive behavioral therapy treats insomnia. ...Read more
Take 75mg effexor (venlafaxine). If it has plateaued and stopped working, what symptoms could that cause?
Same symptoms: Usually, when pt experiences what appears to be a "plateau" in response to antidepressants, it could be that the medication needs adjustment. This is presuming there have been no other changes that have occurred, such as changes in other medications, new medical conditions, or increased psychosocial stressors. Inadequate medication adherence can also present similarly. Discuss with doctor. Best. ...Read more

Therapeutic trial: Were you under the care of a health care provider when you were taking Ambien several years ago? Was there a reason that was identified on the loss of efficacy? Have you had an evaluation to assess your sleep hygiene? These would be helpful to determine the potential in the future if this drug may be worth trying again. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Started Saphris (asenapine) April 1st, a week ago it stopped working, it was increased from 10 to 15 mgs yesterday, when will I get relief?
How you taking it?: If you're taking the medication twice daily then, time to achieve steady state concentrations is about 3 days. Same holds true for time to new serum levels with dose increases that you mention. Don't be afraid to let your doctor know that you're not getting the effect you're looking for if symptoms persist. Be aware that Saphris (asenapine) can make Metformin less effective (i.e. raise blood sugar). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
