Tingling: Is there a rash on the face. Any fever? Any history of migraines?. If no additional neuroloIgical problems, I would take some Tylenol, (acetaminophen) Advil. Have a sharp pain starting base of head on left side travels to top of left side of head. Tilting head back I can feel the surge go back down to neck.

Occipital neuralgia: The greater and lesser occipital nerves live in the back of the head on both sides. The lesser nerve runs towards your ear and the greater nerve runs to top of back of your head. These occipital nerves can be aggravated without any trauma.
