Diverticulitis: Get a cat scan to prove it. Colonic diverticulosis (tiny balloons protruding out of the colonic wall) are famous! In the sigmoid and left sided colon. Clear liquids for a day or two and a 10 day course of Levaquin (levofloxacin) will do the trick. If the ct scan is negative, have a colonoscopy. ...Read more

Pain in lower left abdomen Feels ok when apply pressure but sore when release pressure Radiates to back & left shoulder Sore left side of chest as wel?

Pancreatitis?: The pain after applying pressure sounds like rebound tenderness, and is a potentially serious GI problem that could need medical attention immediately. Take yourself to an urgent care center or ER and have a proper physical exam to evaluate these complaints. This should help decide how serious this condition could be. Your presentation sounds like pancreatitis, but I'm limited in virtual world... ...Read more

What could be causing this tingling, pressure-like feeling on both sides of my lower abdomen? I had sex 1 month ago, condom broke but hpt came back neg

Pain after a condom: I would do another pregnancy test first. Beyond that, it could be endometriosis, or even a mild tear in a ligament, similar to an ankle strain. If there is no vaginal bleeding, no rectal bleeding, and the pregnancy test is negative, and pain is not increasing, I would give it more time. ...Read more

Should I have my gallbladder remove? I have been diagnose with gallstones. I’m not vomiting, nor do I have fevers or chills, but I have some discomfort on my stomach, burning on the right side which wraps around my back and pressure on my lower abdominal

Should I have my gallbladder remove? I have been diagnose with gallstones. I’m not vomiting, nor do I have fevers or chills, but I have some discomfort on my stomach, burning on the right side which wraps around my back and pressure on my lower abdominal

Your: Your physician and surgeon should have reviewed the pros and cons of a cholecystectomy now versus waiting for worsening symptoms. There is always a possibility of another source, but when a well known cause of upper abdominal pain is identified, additional work up is unlikely to identify a reason not to remove the gallbladder. Removal of the gallbladder poses the least amount of risk when it is not inflamed (cholecystitis) and if the stones are small, there is an ongoing risk of pancreatitis as long as the gallbladder and stones remain.

A full history, physical exam, and studies have been performed by your physician; I recommend following your surgeon's advice or seeking another opinion. A laparoscopic cholecystectomy is easier to recover from than an open procedure or pancreatitis.

Can holding constant pressure to the lower left side of your tummy cause internal bleeding?

Can holding constant pressure to the lower left side of your tummy cause internal bleeding?

Not sure..: That I understand your question. Acute traumatic injury, being struck on one side, can cause internal damage like in a bad car accident. Just having external pressure placed on one side of the body would not cause damage unless it were a very heavy large object of many hundreds of pounds. Internal gas pressure would not cause bleeding. ...Read more

Lower left pressure mostly in back, side. Spreads to chest/stomach at its worse. 7 weeks post nissen. Pressure worsens laying down/on side and at nite?

Possible Gas But...: At 7 weeks out from surgery you should be well-healed. This may likely be gas-related pain for which you could try over-the-counter remedies like Gas-X. That said, post-operative complications can occur, so I would suggest you call the surgeon's office and speak with a nurse about your specific symptoms, as they may warrant an in-person exam in certain circumstances. ...Read more

Whenever I go pee I have this pain in my very lower stomach on both the left and right side. It almost feels like pressure once my bladder is relieved?

Possible infection: My question to you is, is this a new symptom or is this something you've had for a long time? If this feeling is new for you and you have feelings of burning, urgency to go, and difficulty emptying you might have a urinary tract infection. If pain in your lower abdomen is the predominant symptom, it could be many other things. Please see your doctor to have evaluated. ...Read more

21yr f constant lower tummy pain! In c-section (2yrs old) more left side swollen feels like pressure! What could it be?

Many possibilities: Your question asks about a 21yo, but you list yourself as 25. I am assuming you are asking about you. Lower abdominal pain after c-section could be a hernia (may hurt more with positions, cough, sneeze, lift, and see a bulge), scar tissue inside abdomen, endometriosis, a growth on your left ovary, or an inflammatory bowel illness. See md and consider a ct scan of your abdomen. Good luck! ...Read more
