When I stand up sometimes my vision starts to go& I need to catch myself. Once I put my head down &I'm okay I feel intense amount of pressure in head.
I'm not sure these: Two symptoms are related but they might be. Typically losing vision with standing up suggests a drop in blood pressure such that your eye is losing blood supply. Improvement by putting your head down supports this idea, but this isn't normal! Nor should you be feeling an "intense" pressure in your head. See your doctor/possible referrals to neurologist and ophthalmologist. Good wishes ...Read more
Denting head?: Hello~ your question is not well crafted but I assume you mean pressure to the EXTERIOR of the skull. If so, external pressure can only change the shape of the skull if it is applied BEFORE the sutures in the pediatric skull have fused and by and large that means before 2 years of age. Anterior fontanelle is closed by about 18 months and the sutures fuse then too, so roughly by 2 years of age thx ...Read more

Absolutely: As a matter of fact, facial pain and pressure are the hallmark symptoms of a sinus infection. You may have started out with "just" a run-of-the-mill cold with mainly nasal drainage and congestion, but sometimes that infection will invade your maxillary and frontal sinuses, causes added facial pain and pressure, along with intense headache/pressure. Try a neti pot, hot steam, warm compresses, naproxen ...Read more

If someone w/vp shunt stands on head/bends downwards, is the pressure inside head same as those w/o vp shunt/hydro? Does it get more pressure? Faster?
Pressure: The shunt has a programmed pressure at which the valve will open therefore the pressure will not exceed that valve pressure. Repeated bending and standing may siphon the valve and allow a small excess of flow through the valve giving a headache that resolves when you lay down. Most have some sort of anti-siphon device but this may still occur. ...Read more

Need further work up: Given your young age (24) and poorly controlled hypertension on two meds you should get evaluated in a tertiary care center by hypertension specialist. If I lean over coughing hard, often in shower, I get binocular diplopia for 5-10 min. Increased pressure in head seems to cause it. Could it be MS?
Highly doubt it: MS deficits are usually permanent and/or progressive. Your symptoms only occur when you cough. You are more likely to have intracranial hypertension. While there are many causes of this, the most common cause is hypertension, or undiagnosed high blood pressure. Get your BP checked & talk to a (HealthTap Prime) doctor. For a diagnosis. Good luck and thanks for asking HealthTap. ...Read more
