Preparing For Colonoscopy With Miralax
Could I have colon hydrotherapy as a substitute for the "standard" prep for a colonoscopy? Normally use enemas.
If it clears you out: The main purpose of colon prep for colonsocopy is to clean out the stool so that the camera can see the linings of your colon. The 'standard prep" works well because it has been done a gazillion times. Can I use miralax (polyethylene glycol) instead of golytely to prepare for my colonoscopy tomorrow?
I took miralax prep for colonoscopy tomorrow..also 4 stool softeners as directed along with the broth jello diet..started the cleanse at 4 p.m. still ?

Because the goal is to clear your colon of stool completely, the regimen is very aggressive and you may be having bowel movements almost continuously until it is just clear liquid coming out. Dr gave golytely bowel prep for colon but she will never be able to tolerate. Is miralax (polyethylene glycol) prep safe for heart patients? Cardiac md ok with it. GI said no

Scheduled for colonoscopy but afraid magnesium citrate won't clear my colon. Docqulace and bisacodyl failed to evacuate colon. Will the citrate work?
AlwaysAGuess; agent,: dose & response relationships with all the usual complex individual variables. A full bottle of citrate of magnesia will likely be far more effective than the other agents, especially if one stays physically active, fasts, take 2 days prior & chase with another bottle 1 day prior. Unfortunately yes : Don't drink it too fast-there is no rush.Some people spread it over an hour.Try drinking through a straw so you can't smell it.See if your doctor will let you mix it with apple juice or sprite. Finally, put a wet wash cloth on your neck and sit in a recliner with your feet up.I found that the prep for the colonoscopy was way worse than the procedure itself. Bless your heart! ...Read more
