Is Colace (docusate sodium) (Docusate 100 mg) safe in 31 week pregnancy? My prenatal multivitamin has Docusate as well. Is there any safer medication for constipation?
That is safe: Constipation can be an issue during pregnancy. So the docusate is important to reduce the amount of strain or vasalva pressure you put on your entire system when you're constipated and trying to have a BM. So you are safe to keep constipation at bay by taking a stool softener (docusate). ...Read more

I'm 30, mom of 15 mo. Was on prenatal during pregnancy. I don't take any vitamins or medications. Feel lack of energy. What vitamins should I take?
Prenatal: If you are breast feeding you should keep taking your prenatal vitamins, you are giving a lot of nourishment to your child. You should also get checked to make sure you aren't anemic, sometimes that can cause fatigue. You should for sure take omega fatty acids. If you are still breast feeding don't use fish oil, best bet is actually chia seeds, they are high in omegas, and also proteins. ...Read more

Not a great idea: ADD medications are amphetamine derivatives and stimulants. Most sleeping Rx pills are benzos with a sedative effect. Both are classed narcotics. Neither will affect testosterone levels. The combination of both medications will cause a" speedball" effect. I advise against this combination. Consult your physician. ...Read more
I am currently taking Ampheta S/Combo and both of my ankles and feet are swelling especially my left. Is the medication causing it? Thank you
Could be: Leg swelling is listed as one of the side effects. Watch your salt intake (can make worse) and elevate your legs. Call your doc and see if any change is recommended. If you have lip, tongue, or throat swelling, and/or shortness of breath, this is an emergency though and you need to go to the ER, if so. If you have pain in your calf this is also worrying and get seen for that now, too. ...Read more
Hi Is there a difference between the medications Amphetamine Dextroamphetamine and Amphetamine Salts Combo? I felt different on each one. Thank you
Subtle difference: Drugs & molecules occur in 2 different forms with the same composition called enantiomers & are physical mirror images: dextro (right), levo (left). Racemic is a mixture of both. Biologic systems use d versions almost exclusively and d-amphetamine is generally more active than l-amphetamine. Amphetamine is racemic amphetamine with d:l ratio of 1:1. The "salts" work out to be a 3:1 ratio of d:l ...Read more

Probably, but why?: I think you mean miconazole 3 combo pack. (If you use a dictation speech recognition system, like Siri, you need to read what comes out!) It probably wouldn't hurt to use along with gonorrhea treatment, but it might not be wise. What you think are yeast symptoms might be from the gonorrhea and you may not need the miconazole. Check with the doctor or clinic treating you for gonorrhea. ...Read more

I am on Keppra (levetiracetam) "anti seizure" medication for 2 years. Will this interfere with my HIV combo negative test results after 3 months by any chance?
Hello, my doctor would like to add another medication to Paxil which I use for (gad), he suggested Buspar (buspirone) or wellbutrin, which combo is better?
For GAD, BuSpar (buspirone): Buspar (buspirone) works on its own in gad. If you do not have depression, then you may be able to come off the Paxil and just use the Buspar (buspirone) for gad. I always dose this conservatively: Buspar (buspirone) 5mg twice a day for one week, the 10mg twice a day for one week then 15 mg twice a day after that. I hope you feel better soon. In young ppl suffering osteoprosis due to low vit d how much time take to be normal bmd after starting medication?
Uncertain.: The answer depends on the correct diagnosis. If severe vitamin d deficiency is present for a prolonged time osteomalacia (impaired bone mineralization) may occur. Vitamin d over a period of months could normalize bmd. If mild deficiency of vitamin d is present osteoporosis could develop. In that case there would not be great improvement in bmd. High serum alklaline phosphatase= osteomalacia. ...Read more
There are none...: Even the strongest opiates only "take the edge off" for people in chronic pain. Meds are only one part of dealing with the pain. A useful tool, but pain is so necessary for survival that we are not "allowed" to monkey with it much. In acute pain, the transition from miserable to less miserable can be great. In chronic pain, it's just part of the plan. ...Read more
