Would Nova Ring help with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder? a friend mine has horrible PMDD and says that is the only thing that has helped her? Tx.

In some women: There are many treatments for PMDD. Nuva Ring like oral contraceptives seems to make it better in 1/3 of women, worse in 1/3 of women, and doesn't change it in 1/3 of women. If your friend is in the 1/3 for whom it works, she should be very happy. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Option: Yes, preventing a menstrual cycle can be u helpful for pmdd, especially if you are needing contraception. There are alternatives, including increasing serotonin premenstrually by taking ssri forb 5 days, for example. Maybe, 5-htp amino acid, prementstrually, for 5-7 days can help too. ...Read more

It would be: Necessary to know a lot more about her medically and about her other disorders.Since she will need a psychostimulant most likely for her add, she would be best served by Depakote as a mood stabilizer because it also prevents people on psychostimulants from going into a manic state. While on Depakote she would need to take birth control. Her gynecologist could select birth control that could help with her pms.The Depakote could also relieve chronic headaches.I hope this helps. Best wishes. ...Read more

More information.: "Tried all meds" is unlikely to be true. More likely it's "fed up with trying meds," perhpas with reason. But which meds, at what doses, for what length of time? and what is meant by "can't metabolize"? This would be important information. ...Read more

I had vertigo a few days before my period. Can premenstrual dysphoric disorder or pms cause this because now I don't have it?

Vertigo may vary: Vertigo should feel like movement when you do not move- it may be spinning, falling, a rocking sensation, etc. It may be caused by benign changes of the inner ear. Sometimes there are more serious causes. PMDD normally is not associated with this symptom. Symptoms of vertigo may come and go- it commonly varies in this way. ...Read more

Has bipolar, add, & premenstrual dysphoric disorder. What meds wd work w bipolar. She unhappy/moody. She is on vivanse 60m/stratterra 60mg&risperdal 25mg?

Has bipolar, add, & premenstrual dysphoric disorder. What meds wd work w bipolar. She unhappy/moody. She is on vivanse 60m/stratterra 60mg&risperdal 25mg?

Is the fever recent and coincident with cough and headache or did they start with a change in a medicine? If 47, then Abilify (aripiprazole) (2 to 5 mg) in place of Risperdal may improve mood and general emotional stability. Suggest talk with your dr. ...Read more
