Premature Ventricular Contractions Pvcs
Think I have Premature ventricular contractions. However when I wake up, it’s to a PVC or similar, and my hands/fingers/forearms feel tingly and sometimes throbs. Could it be something else? Testing to take?
Very premature is a condition in which a baby is delivered between 28 and 31 weeks' gestation. Depending on how premature, how sick, and how lucky or unlucky a baby is, he can get brain problems, cerebral palsy, blindness, deafness, developmental problems, learning disabilities, severe lung diseases, infection and loss of some intestines, etc... Babies who are only moderately premature usually ...Read more
Cardiologist said premature ventricular contractions were causing me to pass out. BP 118/100 HR 105 at appt. Does Pvc cause high BP? Is PVC result of high BP? Is it bad my system and dia are so close together?
PCPs NOT RELATED/BP: Pcps are not caused directly due to high blood pressure and pvcs do not cause high bp.Your systolic and diastolic are not that close together, but you do have highbp discuss your concerns with your cardiologist as you do need to get your BP controlled and rhythm taken care of as you are passing out and that is a serious symptom/sign and needs to be taken care of. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
No: Premature ventricular contractions or PVCs for short are extra beats from the lower chambers of the heart - the ventricles. Symptoms include skip beats and/or palpitations. In your age group, these beats originate from the outflow tracks. Anxiety can exacerbate the symptoms but are not the cause. ...Read more
Pvcs: Pvcs alone carry very little risk unless there is compromised heart function At that point the work up changes to asses quantity and consideration of eliminating the focus with ablation. Pacs from The atrium are also benign but increased frequency can be a warning for other arrhythmia S such as afib ...Read more
It shows I had over 35000 premature ventricular contractions in 24 hours while wearing a holter monitor, any med I should take?
Need evaluation: You have an excessive number of PVC's. If the monitor is accurate this is a potential health concern that can lead to development of a cardiomyopathy. You need a thorough evaluation. There are both medical and interventional treatments that will prevent future health concerns. You should see a cardiologist and or electrophysiologist for evaluation and management. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Holter 48 hr showed 31 xtra beats from atria. If they cause premature ventricular contractions is it dangerous?Read that prexcitaion can cause death??
Premature ventricular contractions and dizziness or lightheadedness. Does that mean not enough blood to my head?
PVCs AND DIZZINESS: If there is run of pvcs and you are dizzy it can mean not enough blood going to your head, but it can be due to other causes like blockage to the carotid arteries that carry blood to the brain and you should get that checked along with a ekg to find out the cause.Id there is significant blockagre to the blood flow then it can be corrected will prevent ischemic stroke. If the arrythmia is caus corre. ...Read more
I have premature ventricular contractions. My son has a ventricular septal defect. Is there any linkage between the two? Thank you.
PVCs: VSD can cause PVCs. There is no other linkage that I am aware of. ...Read more
Are premature ventricular contractions during high intensity exercise Benign? My resting ekg is perfect they said. The made me do like 10 of them.
Depends: Not uncommon that patients experience PVCs before and after exercise, but not during exercise. When most patients start to exercise, their own heart rate rises and the PVCs disappear at higher heart rates.Exercise-induced premature ventricular complexes are common when doing exercise stress tests and their optimal management and prognostic significance remain uncertain.Do discuss w your doctor. ...Read more
How relevant are premature ventricular contractions in idiopathic cardiac arrest ? Are there any preceding symptoms ?
Will premature ventricular contractions (very infrequent and randomly occurring) put me at a higher risk of severe heart disease in the future?
No: Premature ventricular contractions or PVCs for short are extra beats from the lower chambers of the heart - the ventricles. Symptoms include skip beats and/or palpitations. In your age group, these beats originate from the outflow tracks and have no relationship to future risk of heart disease. ...Read more
Meaning of: transmitral spectral doppler flow pattern is abnormal for age. Isolated premature ventricular contractions. Normal 24 hour holter exam.?
What do you advise if I was diagnosed with premature ventricular contractions, meaning irregular heart rhythm.?
Speak to cardio: There are several forms of PVC if you are having several a minute spaced apart then there is little to worry about or do. If they are occurring two or three in a row then you should consider medication or a conduction study. Discuss this with a board certified cardiologist ...Read more

Does premature ventricular contractions shorten life expectancy? If heart is healthy and no family history of heart disease, should it be a concern?
If you show no signs of heart disease and have no family history can you live your whole life with premature ventricular contractions?Life expectancy?
This usually has to do with the onset of labor. It is a muscular tightening of the uterus. Contractions are timed from beginning to end of hardening of the uterus (duration) and from beginning of one contraction until the beginning of the next (frequency). A third descriptor is intensity or how hard ...Read more
