Pregnant With Vertigo
Can you still have dislodged crystals in ear if hallpike test is negative? Having spinning with head movement.
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
I have menieres disease.Had MRI earlier this week which triggered vertigo. Is there meds that can be prescribed 4spinning crackling in ear nausea?
Meniere's disease: Use of medications such as Antivert (Meclizine) is usually of no benefit in true Meniere’s Disease, even if it helps in other balance disorders. However, Valium (Diazepam) and other Benzodiazepines have a direct effect on the nerve controlling balance and its central connections to the brain. When Valium is given at the onset of a vertigo attack, it can prevent the attack from continuing. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Not a good idea: Whatever the cause of vertigo, viral, pressure, temperature, etc. the symptoms are a sudden onset of nausea, sweating, vomiting, a feeling of spinning or dizziness. Pressure changes in an aircraft cabin can make these symptoms worse. It would be best to wait till the viral symptoms go away, and ask your doctor for a medication that you can take before you fly to help prevent the symptoms. ...Read more
Vent. tube placed in R ear 3 days ago. Since then having a lot of dizziness + nausea. ENT started zofran (ondansetron) but does not help dizziness. Any suggestions?
Dizziness for 6 months. Gets worse with head movements, sometimes vertigo. Plus tinnitus, hyperacusis and vision problems. MRI fine. Any advice?
Likely central: Hi Joe, dizziness with visual acuity changes and hyperacusis may point to a central problem rather than a problem with your inner ear. One of the more common conditions associated with this constellation of symptoms is migraine variant. I'd consider obtaining vestibular testing and if negative, a neurologic evaluation. ...Read more

Can Chiari cause positional downbeat nystagmus? Vestibular PT it's definitely not BPPV I also have DBN intermittently in all directions of gaze
Comments: Downbeat nystagmus is a sign of cerebellar/ brainstem connection pathology, and may or may not relate to an effect of the Chiari malformation. This needs further evaluation by a neuro-ophthalmologist, and perhaps a neurosurgeon who has prior EXPERTISE in Chiari, as can be associated with other problems. ...Read more

Get second opinion: Roaring in the ear plus dizziness is very suggestive for menieres. There is no definitive test for menieres. The diagnosis is based on detailed history and testing. Would recommend you get a second opinion with an otologist. This is an otolaryngologist who sub-specializes in ear disorders. Note- even if you have had previous normal testing, repeat testing may be different. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Trying to conceive. Period is abnormally light and a week early. Also nausea, lightheadness and headaches. Pregnant??
Hard to guess: A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), 1 week after missing a period, or 1 week after starting a "weird" period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. ...Read more
Im getting eye hem/bleed along with dizzy spells every two weeks coupled with fast heart beat. It always comes with those symptoms. Related?
Maybe: Dizziness could certainly be related to rapid heart beat. Can't relate the eye symptoms though. I see you've had an echo, EKG, and chest CT - ask your doctor for an event monitor: 24 hour, 48 hour, or 30 days - depending on how often you get your symptoms to try to catch the rhythm when you're having symptoms. ...Read more
