Hormonal imbalance: Did you have unprotected sex? Did you miss a period? If the answer to both is no, you are not pregnant. HCG level of 1 at more than one day after a missed period generally rules out pregnancy. Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD. If you are pregnant and your hCG levels were measured, how accurate is the reading/level? (and there are no other hCG producing issues).

I am pregnant and a hcg level of 74 and progestrone level of 12. I believe I am 4 weeks and 4 days. I think Should I be concerned with these numbers?

As a general rule, undetectable HCG indicates that there is no implanted pregnancy anywhere in your body. ...Read more

I am 5 weeks pregnant and my hcg level was 41 at 4 weeks and 4 days then it went to 65 at 4 weeks 5 days is that normal?
Doubling: It's a bit peculiar that your labs were drawn only one day apart. In general we recommend labs to be drawn two days apart and expect your values to double so this is hard to interpret. Most likely it's normal but the only way to be sure is to continue monitoring for a rising trend and an intrauterine pregnant via ultrasound when your value reaches 1500-200miu/ml. Good luck! ...Read more
I will be 6w4d pregnant with a hCG level of approx 3500 at my first ultrasound this week. If this pregnancy is viable, what can I expect to see?
Variable: Very early OB ultrasounds can have a variable appearance. A gestational sac should be visible with a transabdominal ultrasound, with the yolk sac and fetal pole probably visible with endovaginal ultrasound. Cardiac activity may also be seen. Follow up us or serial HCG levels can help confirm pregnancy status if there is any concern. ...Read more
