Pregnant And Taking Zoloft
Therapy, poss. meds: It's generally best to avoid all meds when pregnant. So psychotherapy is the 1st choice for depression or anxiety. But it's better to take antidepressants, usually ssris like celexa, (citalopram) than to stay clinically depressed while pregnant. Depression itself can harm your unborn baby, so the risks must be weighed. Talk to your doctor. See: http://www.Mayoclinic.Com/health/antidepressants/dn00007. ...Read more
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Interactions: Assuming you are taking "normal" levels of vitamins, I wasn't able to find any potential interactions between vitamins and either effexor (venlafaxine) or seroquel. Just to be sure - I would not start a vitamin regimen or stop one if you are taking these 2 meds. I might suggest NOT taking them together but there wasn't any interactions I could find. Obviously if something happens stop the vitamins. ...Read more

I'm taking citalopram and I just started taking prenatal vitamins. I want to get pregnant soon. Should I stop taking citalopram?
SSRI's and pregnancy: How severe was your depression? Have you received other treatments effective for depression like CBT? How long have you been on the citalopram? Are you willing to expose the neonate to risk (not substantial likely but real including birth defects, serotonin discontinuation reaction at birth, possible emotional and psychological long-term problems)? Benzos are Dangerous: No. Why would you have two drugs of the same class? Does your prescribing physician know you are on all of this medication? The goal is to find a way to prevent anxiety. Benzos do not cure, treat or prevent anxiety. They calm you down; they are sedating? And they are extremely addictive. ...Read more

Usually yes: While both Zoloft (sertraline) and naproxen can cause bleeding, Zoloft (sertraline) by increasing serotonin in platelets, which are essential for blood to clot, and naproxen by causing irritation of stomach lining and thereby increasing the risk of bleeding ulcers, most patients taking Zoloft (sertraline) and other serotonin antidepressants (SSRIs) can take naproxen without adverse effects. ...Read more
Been taking zoloft (sertraline) 100mg recently started thinking girlfriend left me for good. Also take donezepil, should zoloft (sertraline) be switched?
Donezepezil + Zoloft (sertraline): I assume that the physician who prescribed the donezepil did not know you were on Zoloft (sertraline)? These drugs could interact leading to an increased effect of donepezil. This may or may not be OK for you. My advice to you is to inform both doctors that you are on both drugs and ask if it's OK or whether you should adjust one of the doses or even change the Zoloft (sertraline) to an alternate antidepressant. ...Read more

Pregnancy and psych.: Pregnancy and psychiatric illnesses do happen together. Generally, maternal psychiatric illness is not good for a pregnant woman and definitely is bad for the baby after delivery. That means a woman with such a condition should first consult with her psychiatrist, her primary care doctor, and her Ob-Gyn doctor BEFORE embarking on the pregnancy journey. Pre-plan everything. Meds are important. ...Read more
