When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
I am going on 30 yrs old, and I been trying to get pregnant. I been to doctors thinking I can't conceive, but they say my uterus is perfectly healthy.?
It takes more!: It takes more than a healthy uterus to get and stay pregnant! if your doctors simply commented on your uterus, you've been to the wrong docs! important factors include, and aren't limited to, good sperm, good female overall health, normal ovulation, and open fallopian tubes. Hope this helps! ...Read more
I have a heart shaped uterus, the doctors said it's going to be really hard to get pregnant, maybe impossible, is this true?
Not necessarily: A bicornuate uterus or septated uterus can indeed appear "heart-shaped" but I have many patients who conceive normally & only discover the uterine anomaly at c-section or other surgery. You have a higher chance of a breech presentation at delivery (less room for the infant to turn) or preterm labor for the same reason. No reason to worry unless you have a large septum. Please discuss with an ob. ...Read more
I am almost 16wks pregnant I went for a 3d ultrasound not at doctors and it looks like my uterus hasn't grown because baby has no room to move :/?
I didn't have any symptom of endometriosis before i got pregnant then why I have tilted uterus what doc should do is it normal or will cause miscarriag?
No miscarriage: Having a tilt to one's uterus (forward, backward or midline) doesn't affect infertility or miscarriage at all. Sometimes women with retroverted uteri (tilted back), also have endometriosis. Endometriosis can cause infertility but does not increase risk for miscarriage. There's nothing to "do" about a tilted uterus, it's a normal variation. Best of luck and thank you for using healthtap! ...Read more
Fundal height : Fundal height is measured from the pubic bone to the top of the uterus. After the first 16 weeks of pregnancy, your fundal height in cm often matches the number of weeks you have been pregnant. This is just a gauge and your doctor will determine if all is well with your baby ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I'm 9weeks pregnant, doc said my uterus sizeis about 10weeks, does the uterus usually grow if i'm having blighted ovum or if the baby is not growing?
Tomato Tamahto: 9 weeks, 10 weeks. Yes, the dates are important, but to a certain extent this is an exact science, and to another extent this is an inexact science. If you have an ultrasound measured in millimeters that indicates a certain number of weeks, fine. There are ranges that are acceptable and normal. I would not quibble about 1 week - i would worry if you were a month off! measure again in a month. ...Read more
Doc told me i'm 2 weeks pregnant according to the size of the sac. Is it okay to occasionally feel mild pinching pain on uterus area? Never had cramps.
Period 5days late. Urine test negative. Went for scan- doc said uterus is 7mm too thin to be pregnant. No chance of pregnancy is this true?
Early preg maybe: It sounds like you had delayed ovulation for this month and it's going to take longer to get your period. Your ovulation can be delayed for many reasons: stress, endocrine problems (thyroid), other medications, etc. 7mm is thin but I have seen people very early in pregnancy who had a thin lining. If no menses in a few more days then check a different brand of pregnancy test. ...Read more
For so long I have had a tender uterus. The only time it doesn't feel sore is when i'm pregnant. It sore to touch but my doc says i'm fine.?
I had a vaginail ultrasound down cause i was having pin on my right ovarie and doc said he seen fluid and my uterus has thicken am i pregnant
It's : It's hard to answer this question without knowing exactly what the ultrasound report said. It's entirely normal for a woman to have a small amount of fluid in the pelvis around the time of ovulation. A large amount of fluid, or fluid in a woman who is post-menopausal, would be unusual. What is thickened? The endometrial stripe, which represents the linig of the uterus, changes its thickness dramatically during the menstrual cycle, so this may also be totally normal. An extremely thick endometrium could represent something called endometrial hyperplasia or adenomyosis, though these words would probably show up very specifically in your report. Ultrasound can miss a very early pregnancy. However, by the time you miss a period, there may very well be signs of a pregnancy visible in the uterus. ...Read more
My sister is 30 years old and 1mth pregnant, did 1st scan, doc infd cyst in uterus, threaten abortion, thyroid results waitg. What r the chances?
You need to wait: No one knows exactly what your sister has at this point. All those things you mentioned and more could be present. I am glad you have an ob-gyn taking care of your sister. Let it settle for a few days. I will hope that the pregnancy does well but no one can give you an accurate number. ...Read more
Doc Im 20 week pregnant now, can i take cleaxane injection on tummy any side during this time? Any chance of needle to enter placenta or uterus?
Get instructions: Clexane injections are given very superficially just barely below the skin. It is very important that someone teaches you how to use them before you start doing them on your own. If you are using them correctly then it is impossible to hit the uterus. Make sure you are trained before attempting to use them on your own. Your question implies that you have not been taught adequately. ...Read more
My tubes were tied. Had surgery cystectomy doc removed part of tube left some attached to uterus and some ovary, says i can get pregnant. Can i?
Probably not: There is always a certain failure rate with any form of tubal ligation; but if done well and having an additional part removed with your last surgery for the cyst, i would think that the odds are extremely low. Actually, I am not sure why he told you this and if there was a concern, why did they not remove the remaining tube. Hope this helps. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
The doc gave me a pap smear and told me that my cervix and uterus weren't soft enough to determine pregnancy. 3 preg. Tests say that i am. Could i be?
Makes no sense: Pregnancy can not be determined by the softness of the cervix in any reliable way. A simple urine pregnancy test can be done to answer the question. If you have three positive pregnancy tests then you are pregnant. Clarify what your doctor meant because this does not seem like a very confusing situation. ...Read more
Doc can i take my clexane 20 mg injection on my tummy(belly button side) on pregnancy? Im 20 weeks preg and tummy is big now.. Will it enter uterus?
Home pregnant test is + doc could not feel my uterus I have a big tummy I should be 6 weeks pregnant never had sugar but random sugar that day is 342?
Diabetes : The uterus at 6 weeks in very small and it is not surprising that the doctor could not feel it. You have diabetes if your blood sugar was that high. Hopefully you are getting in to see an endocrinologist to start diabetes treatment soon. This is important for you and for your baby. ...Read more
Im 10weeks pregnant Doc did an ultrasound cause they didn't hear the heart beat The baby is fine but they found a tumor in my uterus doc didn't say much?
Don't worry: More than likely, if there is a "tumor" in your uterus it is what is called a fibroid (leiomyoma). These are very, very common and not cancerous. If it is not very big, it is unlikely to affect your pregnancy, but your OB will probably just keep an eye on it throughout the pregnancy. ...Read more
