Ask your Doc: An ultrasound date of 9 weeks is fairly accurate so your doc can extrapolate backwards and calculate when you most likely ovulated and which days you most likely conceived. If EDD was January 2nd based on LMP of 3/28 (regular cycle) then changed to January 12 based on early u/s. Does that mean I ovulated later??

Maybe: EDD are based on 40 weeks from last known normal menstrual period, or 38 weeks from known conception date.U/S dating is based on a database of average fetal anatomic measurements (size of head, abdomen, leg etc) for a particular age.The computer in the ultrasound machine calculates an EDD based on the average of these measurements. Very unlikely: While it is technically possible to get pregnant on any day of the menstrual cycle, this is true because a person doesn't know when she ovulated. If your periods are regular, your fertility calculator should be quite accurate.
