Pregnancy Tests After Miscarriage
Missed miscarriage in January this year, period 4 weeks after but am now 11 days late and negative pregnancy tests? Is this normal?
Re do test: It would be prudent to re do the test. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD. The : The short answer here is to see your doctor for a serum (blood) pregnancy test. If the test is positive (the result will be a number) then a repeat test will be done about 2-3 days later to see if the number is increasing, which means the pregnancy is progressing. Otherwise if it is negative then you probably had a complete miscarriage given the fact that 8 pregnancy tests were postive prior to the bleeding. All the best. ...Read more

Ultrasound?: It sounds like you're pregnant. If you had a recent ultrasound and it showed a heartbeat, that's an excellent sign, as risk of miscarriage drops when heartbeat present. Sometimes symptoms (breast tender, for example) can wane and is not necessarily a sign of miscarriage. If you're worried, though, call your doctor and ask for an ultrasound, not unreasonable given your history. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Why do you think so?: If you are on birth control, using it correctly, and have negative pregnancy tests...then why would you think you had a miscarriage? Irregular bleeding/spotting episodes are common, and can be red, pink, or brownish. Doesn't sound like you have any reason to worry that you had a miscarriage. Keep a calendar of irregular bleeding episodes and discuss those with your doctor if they continue. ...Read more
