Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

How many days post blastocyst transfer, using a urine pregnancy test will you know if it definitely hasn't worked?

How many days post blastocyst transfer, using a urine pregnancy test will you know if it definitely hasn't worked?

No perfect answer: I would say that if you do not have a positive pregnancy test within 21 days then it definitely has not worked although a serum pregnancy test would be very helpful.

Can you help. Had 2, 7 cell BC&CB blastocyst transfer 25 oct now the 29th and had Negative 10hcg pregnancy test. Is there still hope? Have no symptoms

Too early: 4 days is too early. Follow the guidelines as directed by your fertility specialist. The easiest thing to do is to wait and see if you miss your period. If you do then check a pregnancy test. Best of luck.

Transfered a frozen hatching blastocyst on march 18. Home pregnancy test today, march 23, was negative. Does that mean that my transfer failed?

Tested too soon: Wow. Please slow down. Anyone knows that testing too soon will give an invalid test. You have to give the fetus time to get big enough to be sharing blood and chemicals with your body...About ten to fourteen days!

How long before taking a home pregnancy test after a blastocyst frozen cycle embryo transfer?

How long before taking a home pregnancy test after a blastocyst frozen cycle embryo transfer?

Embryo transfer: Your infertility specialist will no doubt be keen to get an early pregnancy test to see if implantation has occurred. In general, a home test should be positive 7-10 days post transfer.

Maybe. Be patient.: Patience is a virtue that all prospective parents should seek. A urine pregnancy test done correctly should give a reliable result 2 weeks after implantation (making it unlikely to be a false negative, if it is negative). Hopefully, it will be a positive, but there should be no need to give it another thought until then.

Does a negative pregnancy test on day 8 of blastocyst means no positive result?

Not necessarily: Did you miss your period? If you are 4-5 days past the due date for your period, you should do the home pregnancy test using first morning urine and following the directions for the test carefully. You may wish to see your doctor for a more sensitive blood test, as soon as one day after a missed period.

My pregnancy calander shows that today is the stage that my pregnancy is blastocyst and I'm spoused to start my period on the 11/12 can I do the pregnancy test April 5?

My pregnancy calander shows that today is the stage that my pregnancy is blastocyst and I'm spoused to start my period on the 11/12 can I do the pregnancy test April 5?

Unclear question: Conception, as defined by the generation of a fertilized ovum, occurs within day or so of the sex. However, it takes about two weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG to produce a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully.

Positive home pregnancy test today. Do a lot of 2 person transfer at work. Is that safe in early pregnancy.

Lifting in pregnancy: Prior to 20 wks gestation lifting, solo or 2 person, would not pose a threat unless you were diagnosed with an incompetent cervix, had a cerclage, or some other medical condition that prevented you from lifting before pregnancy. After 20 wk, we generally recommend that someone not lift solo in excess of 25 pounds repetitively.

Hiya, I'm 12 day post egg transfer and done a pregnancy test and it came out negative is there still a chance?

Unlikley: If you checked a urine test, on occasion, the urine test will be negative when the blood test is positive. By 12 days after transfer, the levels should be high enough to show up on both. Please follow through with your doctor/clinic's instructions.

Depends: You do not say what today is so-- if you had a day 5 embryo transfer a pregnancy test can be performed on may 17th. But best to follow the directions of your ivf team and test when they tell you and not before!

I had my embryo transfer on 11/29/2012 I took I pregnancy test on the 12/1/2012 it was positive and another on 12/4/2012 that was a negative why?

I had my embryo transfer on 11/29/2012 I took I pregnancy test on the 12/1/2012 it was positive and another on 12/4/2012 that was a negative why?

Trigger shot gave +: The first pregnancy test you took was too soon after the embryo transfer - it was probably positive from the HCG 'trigger shot' that you took before your egg retrieval (hcg is pregnancy hormone). The second test on 12/4 is too soon after transfer to get a positive. If you had a blastocyst transfer you should wait 9 days post transfer before taking a pregnancy test. Talk to your clinic. Best wishes.

7 days after frozen embryo transfer, pregnancy test?

No!: That's too early for a reliable test, ask your ivf doctor when he/she wants the test.
