Overweight (Definition)

Nearly two-thirds of the United States population is overweight. There are many ways to determine if a person is overweight, but experts believe that a person's body mass index (BMI) is the best way to assess an adult's weight in relation to their height. * A BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered normal. * Adults with a BMI between 25 and 29.9 are considered overweight. There are exceptions. For example, an athlete may have a higher BMI but not be overweight. * Adults with a BMI greater than 30 are considered obese. * Adults with a BMI greater than or equal to 40 are considered extremely obese. * Anyone more than 100 pounds overweight is considered morbidly obese. A person with a high BMI may have a normal amount of body fat is they have ...Read more

Wait 4 blood result: Home pregnancy tests are quite good...But not 100%...Even blood test is not 100%. So, wait for the result and go from there....If it is negative, your doc may do more test such as an ultrasound etc... If it is positive...Congrats. ...Read more

I'm 16 and I'm having pregnancy symptoms but I'm overweight and I don't know if I'm pregnant or just unhealthy. ?

I'm 16 and I'm having pregnancy symptoms but I'm overweight and I don't know if I'm pregnant or just unhealthy. ?

? Unprotected sex: Not sure what all your symptoms are ..? nausea, fatigue, back pain? Most often these are NOT caused by pregnancy. Of course, the most important change is missing your period & realizing you had unprotected sex during the time you may have ovulated. If you have missed your period, check a home pregnancy test. Practice reliable contraception & try to eat healthier and exercise. Good wishes:) ...Read more

I need b.C. Pills only to regulate period, not to prevent pregnancy. Are progestin-only pills better than regular pills (w/ estrogen too) for women who produce too much estrogen due 2 being overweight?

No, not really b/c: There are other issues involved. If menses not regulated, not ovulating properly, making extra testosterone that converts to estrogen. The bleeding is likely gonna be worse on Progesterone only but you can do Medroxyprogesterone lat 10 days of the month if they don't come often. I will, at times give 7 days Progesterone to cause bleeding and clear uterus, the start the pill in cases like yours. ...Read more

Not pregnant,on nexplanon, and overweight and have IBS and pregnancy like symptoms..and I felt in my my cervix and feel a bulge?

Not pregnant,on nexplanon, and overweight and have IBS and pregnancy like symptoms..and I felt in my my cervix and feel a bulge?

Not pregnant: It is very unlikely that you could be pregnant with the Nexplanon implant in place (and not expired). If you are still very concerned, do a home pregnancy test. Bumps or bulges on the cervix are most likely to be harmless cysts, but you should see your Gynecologist for an examination, especially if you have not been seen in the past year. Your symptoms are likely from your intestines, not uterus ...Read more

I have PCOs I have missed my periods for 7 days now I have back pain and stomach pain feel tired and feel overweight. I had pregnancy test its negative. Is this symptoms of pregnancy ? If I am pregnant when should I take the test

Hard to tell: It can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result if done correctly. One can test about 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. An Ob-Gyn doctor can evaluate any persistent or worrisome symptoms. ...Read more

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
