Yes.. But: Luteal phase defect (lpd) implies an inadequate amount of Progesterone (p4) after ovulation. P4 is a critical hormone for pregnancy and in theory if the level is low then you should miscarry. However, the diagnosis of lpd is controversial because p4 levels are tricky to measure accurately.
