No, not quite: The counting of "weeks of pregnancy" or "gestational age" is standardized so that all doctors, nurses, and patients can talk about it the same way. The start date of a pregnancy is the first day of the menstrual period just before the pregnancy. That means ovulation & fertilization happen about 2 weeks after the start date of "the pregnancy". Sure, unless OB orde: If your obstetrician has not forbidden intercourse, then the answer is yes. Please avoid high-risk contact (i.e. Orogenital, anogenital) as that can cause infectious and/or severe perinatal complications. Dating confusion...: The dating of pregnancy can be confusing. Full-term Pregnancy lasts for about 280 days or 40 weeks. If you get out a calendar and count 40 weeks, you will discover that some months (like December) have 5 weeks and some have 4. Saying pregnancy lasts 9 months is an approximation.
