Ultrasound result: single live intrautrerine pregnancy, presently cephalic,20weeks and 5days gestation, oligohydramnios fetal ascites..what can i do

See perinatologist: Its frightening to have an ultrasound that gives news that isn't perfect. Oligohydramnios means that there isn't enough fluid around the baby. You can help make more fluid by drinking lots and lots of water and getting enough rest. You need to see a perinatologist to find out why. This is a doctor who concentrates on complicated pregnancies to find out why. Best Wishes! ...Read more

Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Very likely to see: At 5 weeks 4 days you will see a heartbeat. Before that it is a question of when can you see the heart beating and that has a lot of variables. Usually before 5 weeks it is not common to see but not impossible. ...Read more

I'm 21 weeks of gestation, how can I know that the fetus is well? Can dopplar study be reassuring?

I'm 21 weeks of gestation, how can I know that the fetus is well?
Can dopplar study be reassuring?

Ultrasound: Many moms do find reassurance in US as they can actually see their developing baby moving around and the physician can check anatomy. They aren't required though. Your OB is monitoring your growth and the babies heart rate - two parameters that are followed to see if everything seems to be progressing normally. ...Read more

Hi, my wife LMP is 8 weeks and gestation sac age is 6 week, fetal pole with no cardiactivity seen. Brown tissue like discharge for last 3 days?

What's the question?: Brown discharge is likely not a problem. Main worry is infection. If she has pain, itching or discomfort in the vaginal area, she should see her doctor. Fetal heart may not be seen at 6 weeks. Get a follow up to confirm normal gestation. ...Read more

I had scan on 8th mth & my fetus AC different 5 wks with gestation age, will this cause Pulmonary Atresia or any other problem? What cause this?

I had scan on 8th mth & my fetus AC different 5 wks with gestation age, will this cause Pulmonary Atresia or any other problem? What cause this?

5 weeks big/small: It matters whether the AC is measuring bigger or smaller than the rest of the measurements. My first thought would be if it were bigger that you may have gestational diabetes? Consider rephrasing with this part in the question. ...Read more

Fetus measurements: 57mm 12 weeks gestation / 62mm 12 wks+4days gestation. Are measurements this precise to have this difference in size in 4 days?

Sort of: Yes, the measurements on average do correspond to these dates and they are fairly accurate, but not exact. Also it is dependent on how the ultrasound tech measures it. So there are plenty of sources of mild error. ...Read more

Yesterday they did a us it show 5wk gestation sac no fetal pole my big is 4446.2 when did i concieve what's my due date i need serious help please?

Follow up with OB: Another us is indicated to see if this is a viable pregnancy in 7-10 days. Based on the ultrasound date the edd would be 09/13/2013. Based on a 28 day cycle conception would have occurred approximately 01/07/2013. ...Read more

U/s:single intrauterine gestation sac & fetal pole crown2rump 0.53cm 6w3d + or - a wk no yolk sac/ hb. Nxt u/s i'll be 11wk.Should i worry?Dating off?

A little concerning: More information needed but if a fetal pole is present and can be measured, then a fetal heart beat should seen. If there is just a gestational sac with no fetal pole, then the size of the gestational sac matters. A gestational sac that measures 18mm should have fetus with a heartbeat and if not, then a miscarriage is most probable. Good luck. ...Read more

Yes -relax.: Intrauterine means that the pregnancy is where it is supposed to be: inside your womb. The estimated gestational age is the result of measurements of the size/weight of the fetus and is pretty accurate before 20 weeks in predicting your due date. Congratulations! ...Read more

How does metabolic influences of mitochondria processing of simple sugars during pregnancy effect the development of the corpus callosum in a fetus?

How does metabolic influences of mitochondria processing of simple sugars during pregnancy effect the development of the corpus callosum in a fetus?

Fetal development: Truth to say, we don't really know what effects the development of the corpus callosum in the fetus. We do know that about 10% of adults do not have a corpus callosum and are essentially normal. Partial absence of the corpus callosum is abnormal and associated with mental retardation. ...Read more
