Supposed to have acth stim test, but recently had to do 1wk prednisone pack. How long should I now wait before having the stim test?
Prob ok to proceed: After 1 week of prednisone, your baseline cortisol will be suppressed, but your adrenal should still be stimulated by the acth. If you can put off the test for another week-10 days, it may be a good idea, but if the test has to be done, go ahead. I woke up with a pain in my side. It hurts when i cough or move certain ways. I just finished a med pack of prednisone for wheezing. Should i worry?

With that said, I found no drug-drug interactions (http://www.drugs.com/interactions-check.php?drug_list=1936-0,719-8050,300-16287). None of 3 require empty stomach. Cheratussin is taken throughout day as needed. Z-pak is once daily. Prednisone dosing depends but can be once in AM. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My husband has had bronchitis for a month. He's had a z pack and prednisone twice. Shouldn't they have given him a shot of penicillin and breathing tr?
Workup/Mgt: There are many conditions which can cause a prolonged cough. These include asthma, sinus infections and reflux/aspiration. In addition to checking for these, I would also recommend avoiding smoke and a TB test. Most bronchitis infections are viral and are therefore not treated with antibiotics. If he has prolonged wheezing and dry cough, albuterol/inhaled or oral steroids are indicated. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
