Pre Workout Stimulants
Is 120/57 blond pressure good for 17 y.o.? I work out a lot. And im taking stimulants in pre workout. Also i got blurred sight sometimes and heart ach
Reconsider stimulant: The goal for blood pressure is to be <120 and <80. I'm not sure what stimulants you are taking before you workout, but stimulants can affect blood pressure and can cause other symptoms including chest pain and increased heart rate. I would consult your physician about the stimulants you are taking to assess whether they are something you should continue and to also assess the other symptoms. ...Read more
What is a pre-workout that is safe to take with Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) 30 mg XR? I do not want one with creative or stimulants. I was thinking Beta-Alanine alone
There are no known: Bothersome interactions between Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) XR and creatine or Beta-alanine. If you do not have a history of heart defect then it is okay to workout while taking Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) XR. If you or family have history of heart defects then consult your prescriber to review and advise. Best regards for great health, ...Read more
Can work out supplements interact with SSRIs or benzos? Took a testosterone booster and preworkout powder and feel panicky or could it be from caffeine
Anxiety & stimulants: The length of time stimulants "wear off" depends on which specific medications you're talking about. If you have anxiety, using any stimulants (including over the counter ones) can worsen it. So, I wouldn't recommend using them at all. If you have adhd and are on prescribed stimulants, work with your doctor to alleviate anxiety. ...Read more
I have gymnastics training 12 times/week, but can't keep up. Too tired. Is it ok to take caffeine pills to boost workout?
No: The goal is to do it all the natural way. Healthy, natural foods, drinks, and habits. Avoid pills, supplements, etc... unless there is a deficiency of something. Thus, one can see a primary care doctor to check for the cause of tiredness. That is to make sure there is not a medical problem, such as a sleep disorder (where one seems to be sleeping but is not resting his brain), or other issues. ...Read more
What does it mean when you feel jittery when you take pre and post workout supplements? Is it safe if you are sensitive to caffeine?
Depends on supp.: There are many pre and post workout supplements. I imagine many of the pre-workout supplements contain caffeine and thus are best avoided if you are sensitive to caffeine; but there are probably some that don't have caffeine so check them out. Generally if you are jittery after any supplement I would take it as a sign that it is not a good fit for you and you should find one that does not do this! ...Read more
I take a Melatonin supplement almost every night because I take caffeine for my workouts. Will this cause any long-term health issues? Thanks!
Asian M High BP Bodybuilding/Cardio exercise take BSN NO Xplode (Caffeine+Creatine+NO) supplement. Can't workout hard without it. Can I take it safely?
Difficult Quetion: It will be very hard to get a 'good' or even correct answer to this. The problem is that supplement companies are not subject to inspection/regulation by the FDA, and there are very few independent studies that are ever done on their products. So... it's difficult to know the compounds that are actually in the substance — as well as their amounts. Buyer beware... ...Read more

Trouble sleeping due to increased anxiety. No caffeine, workout early pm. Psychiatrist rec. Melatonin, on it for months; no help lately. Ideas?
My 14 yr old son who is takes 40 mg of Vyvanse & 20 mg of Lexapro a day, wants to take a GNC product for weightlifting and the product if called muscle tech anabolic halo hardcore proseries (post workout) and contains some creatine, caffeine, phenylal
Be Careful: Since both vyvanse and Lexapro (escitalopram) have strong effects on the brain's neurotransmitters (norpramine, serotonin, etc) and different requirements for brain enzymes to deal with these drugs I would not take supplements that include creatine and others. Vitamins are generally safe and effective. Stay away from other nutritional products until your doctor can tell you whether they are safe to take. ...Read more

None exists : There is no such thing as fat burners. The diet industry is totally outside of fda regulation, so outrageous claims are commonly made about snake oil products that are ineffective and frequently unsafe. PeeWeeWillBeProud: Sounds like you're on the right track.
